From Eurogamer: "2013's Aliens: Colonial Marines is one of the most memorable gaming disappointments we've ever seen. After witnessing a gorgeous, atmospheric engine showcase back in 2011, fans of the series were hungrily awaiting a true sequel to the iconic 1986 film. But then, in February 2013, Aliens Colonial Marines came out and the horror of its truth became reality. Gearbox's first-person shooter was an infestation worthy of being nuked from orbit. The AI was broken, the gunplay was unreliable, and the "perfect organism" - the Aliens themselves - couldn't even run at the player properly."
Too many games aren't given a second shot. We at VGU choose which games we would love to see receive a sequel.
The Saboteur - criminally underrated and a fantastic mechanic of bringing colour back to Nazi-occupied Paris.
The article lists Bulletstorm, Sleeping Dogs, and Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Player 2 takes some quiet time to look back at some of the most hyped failures of the past 10 years.
Can't argue with any of those really, but I would add Resident Evil Operation Racoon City and Metal Gear Survive to that list. Both terrible games from good franchises.
Bulletstorm, I actually liked the gameplay but the atrocious writing and characters made me despise the game by the end of it.
Thanks to a bustling mod community on Steam, Gearbox's Aliens: Colonial Marines actually has a stellar multiplayer experience to offer these days.
Nice to meet you sir
Should probably be redone completely from the ground up. It shouldn't be difficult because the settings are already in place.
I never played Colonial Marines because I heard nothing but bad things about it. Earlier last year I heard about the modding community on this game for PC. I saw Colonial Marines on sale for just a few buck, so I picked it up just to play the mods. Still haven't gotten around to it, but this was a good reminder to check it out now.
They should just put it in a capsule and send it to space. It's worthless garbage. Alien Isolation made up for this horrid piece of game development.
Hah...yeah. Lost cause, but good job for trying anyway.
