Maybe. But epic will happily sue him for making false claims. Other publishers need permission before they can utter the name of a game on their system for marketing purposes. Not usually a problem if the game is coming to the system.

I used to take him for a joke like many here and I do think he's funny, but atmfter that interview I have new found respect for him. He made good points and was first to put many people on and paved a way for making it big off social media. Him making moves and investments should be applauded rather than hated on. So you respect he's using the community, and gaming media, to promote himself, and causing other companies to have to spend money in legal fees issuing all these cease and desist, or filing lawsuits.

Using his name to negatively affect the rest of the industry, just so he can become more popular?

What he's doing is illegal, and it's a federal crime if he had an actual product to sell. As it is, the FTC could still come in and shut him down, because what he is doing is not right, and it isn't something that is worthy of respect.

His moves and investments shouldn't be encouraged in the least here. If he had a respectable product, then I'd agree with you, but as it stands, this doesn't appear to even be a real product, and is more about making himself relevant again

You think he licensed hundreds of games using a knock off retro system from China? The cost to license alone would make this system out of the reach of anyone, even for the rediculous price he is charging. Some of the games on those systems aren't even able to be licensed anymore, as the companies that owned them are defunct, but the games still aren't open domain.

This product isn't real. He's using this to draw attention to himself. He's claiming Fortnite will come to the system, when it's not, which means Epic can sue him, and Epic probably will. Nintendo is already suing him.

Even if he were shipping these things, or fascilitating their sale, he's doing something illegal, and if the lawsuit, which Nintendo will win, doesn't do it, him going back and doing it again with a new console will get the FTC involved, because these systems aren't even legally allowed to be imported into the US. Even if he drop ships, he's the one taking money for them, which is a federal crime.

The guys a joke, and anyone who believes these systems are real, are idiots.

If he wants to make himself relevant again, then he should do it where he can actually be relevant. Since he doesn't have the means to produce, release, or distribute a console, he shouldn't be using the console industry to try and get attention. It's using the industry, and the customers, just to get ahead. If he wants to be relevant again, then he should produce music, and be relevant there. Musicians that only try to be relevant because of their personality or social status, are really not worth it in the end. If he has talent, use it. Don't use everyone else.

In short....he's not doing it legally, and I'm sure that you don't believe he is. I know you aren't an idiot. If this thing, or his last thing were real, we would have seen one in the wild by now.

He is literally buying bulk stock of a bootleg console from China, which is the exact same console available on Aliexpress for almost half the price, then selling them as if they were his own. This is the case with all the items on his site, not just the game consoles. He has knock off AirPods and gaming headsets, all available on Aliexpress for much less and are exactly the same product. He even copied and pasted the item photos and descriptions on his site.

The systems have 800 games on them and include games, stated specifically by him, like Mario and Pokemon. And he claims all these games are licensed. That is the biggest load of BS of it all. Do you have any idea the cost to licence 800 games?! Especially high profile games like just those 2. The NES classic had 30 games and cost $60.

This isn't a case of an entrepreneur making investments and struggling to make his way in the world. This is a con artist trying to scam his way to fast money.
