To each their own. Huge Elder Scrolls fan, but have not been able to get into TESO. Tried 3-4 times and keep getting bored stiff within a couple hours. Feels extremely generic and nothing like TES.
I'm going to be that guy. These are two different teams working on two very different projects. The Elder Scrolls Online is a dedicated MMO while Fallout 76 is a lobby-based FPS with the intention of playing like a survival game with online multiplayer lobbies. They really do need to have the two teams work together though. One would benefit heavily from the other if they worked together.
Much prefer the way Fallout 76 works. Think I must be one of the few really enjoying Fallout 76.
