The Games That Are Probably Not Coming Out in 2019

I actually think TLOU2 will release this year (maybe I just desperatly hope that it does), maybe I'm pinning too much on the alleged "leak" from the soundtrack https://gamefragger.com/pla... I think it will be in that Sept-Nov window. (Although it'd be great if it came out on Outbreak day i.e Sep[tenber 26th :)

I don't think Death Stranding will release this year; I'm not even sure that I'd want it to if it has to be rushed out the door, it only really started develpoment in 2016 afaik. I think Kojima is aiming for 2020, but I don't think even he can commit to that. Final Fantasy VII probably won't release until next gen consoles are out (circa 2020), same goes for Cyberpunk 2027.

Games like Elder Scrolls 6, and even Star Citizen shouldn't really even be on a release date lists yet. I don't even think Star Citizen will ever have a "Full Game" release. It'll foreve be alpha 3.3's and beta 4.2's that get released, but I don't think you'll really see one final completed game package that'll be shipped.

It's possible we could see a similar fate for TLOU2 as we did for the first game. That game released in June of 2013 as the PS3's swan song before the PS4 releasing that November. So depending on when Sony might have a release date in mind for the PS5 (assuming it comes in 2020) it's possible the game may not come out until early next year as the sort of exclamation point on the PS4.

Kojima has hinted at a 2019 release for Death Stranding, and he has said before that they are on schedule. I do think the game will release this year, but of course you can never be sure.

I think both the last of us and death stranding have a pretty good chance of releasing this year

From all the updates we have been getting it sounds like the development is moving along and is on track. Typically I would say because it’s a Kojima game it’s likely not to release anytime soon, But that’s only because previous projects that he’s worked on have all been worked on After the completion of their game engine.
He doesn’t have to worry about that this time around because he has a suitable engine given to Him.

I think naughty dog will surprise us with the release date this year. They have been awfully quiet

I think Ghost of T. Is really the only project that’s most likely to be pushed back

TLOU 2 will release next year especially if the new consoles drop. They are going to take advantage of double dipping. In fact many of these releases are probably doing the same thing.

As they should, worked perfect for the first one and doubled their sales. This is a game I'd have zero problem buying twice just like the first one.

I think TLOU2 will still release this year, but I agree that we'll see PS5 remasters of even games like God of War, Spider-man and Detroit Become Human - not just TLOU2. However, the conversation has to start with if the PS5 will be backward compatilble?!
