Capcom has pulled in-game ads from 'Street Fighter V,' but it's not clear if this is due to the backlash or just a temporary move.
Electronic Arts CEO Andrew Wilson stated in a recent EA Earnings Call, that the next Battlefield "it is going to be another tremendous live service.”
Another? ANOTHER?
Is he honestly trying to make out like the last Battlefield was a huge success, not just as a game but as a live service game? I'm sure these guys live in their own echo chambers, they are so far removed from reality or they just like talking out of their arse trying to rewrite history.
Also why say such a tone deaf statement when you know the state of live service games at the minute and how many gamers feel about them. Bigging up the next BF game as live service does not give me any excitement or hype.
Phil Spencer and Microsoft have come under fire following the closure of multiple Bethesda-owned studios including Tango Gameworks.
wow haha.
i dont think he will resign. or will be kicked off.
if hes still here after everything in the past, this wont affect him unfortunately.
Twisted Voxel writes: "We've almost reached the end of the 1st half of 2024, and Xbox has had more studio closures than first party game releases in the year so far."
Hellblade 2, Indiana Jones, Avowed, Towerborne, and Call of Duty are still to be released this year. Marcus Fenix collection to be added to the list with the Xbox showcase, hopefully.
Sony doesn't have to bother fighting the next Microsoft acquisition. The massive layoff by themselves should be enough to get the next big buy blocked.
So if MS hadn't spent $80 billion consolidating the industry just think of all the games and jobs that would have saved.
MS is a drain on gaming and have been nothing but a negative.
"Ono also suggested that Capcom was looking to "improve" the feature."
Awesome news!!!
I'm scared for future games
just make sfvi please and end sfv's misery...
I could understand if they made adverts optional and it was only to advertise a game event (world championship of X game) and it rewards players to view the content. But unsure how the ads were in Sf5 as never played.
But if it was forced then it's not acceptable on a pay to own game. But this is the sort of thing you expect from Crapcom.
I witnessed a full screen ad while i was on Killing floor 2. Totally different game but my point is it looks like a whole new wave of bullshit could be heading into games. You pay for a video game yet you are shown an ad. WTF
