PlayStation Classic Gets Huge Price Cut, Which Says A Lot

One month after the NES Classic launched, it was impossible to find. One month after the SNES Classic launched, it was the hottest console on the market. And one month after the PlayStation Classic launched, it’s been marked down from $100 to $60 at every store on the internet.

naruga1963d ago (Edited 1963d ago )

i ill say that ok..... PS console may have not the idiotic bloated love that SnES or NES had ...but the thing is that PS was miles better system in every way and that Sony had already offered all its classic library through PS3 PSVita ,PSP (that s why PS classic was such a disaster ) while all the classic Nintedo games were not so much widely distributed (who serious gamer had a Wii or a Wii U ?? .. lol) .....also after Snes and NES Nintendo literally has nothing to offer (all the systems that followed were at least mediocre BS stuffed with Mario and Zelda)

Segata1963d ago

How drunk are you? Was that supposed to be English?

fonger081963d ago

@Segata I think they call it trollish, usually only spoken by the younger, more inexperienced gamer.

RosweeSon1963d ago

So you don’t know what your talking about mario 1 amongst others has been available across multiple platforms before 2 of which you listed Wii/Wii u SNES (through all stars) 3ds VC gameboy colour had a remake it’s now also on switch
N64 was mediocre yet it paved the way for analogue controllers rumble paks. Goldeneye was game changing not to mention mario 64 and ocarina of time is still voted a best game even now

starchild1963d ago

That's a very poor excuse. We've been able to emulate NES and SNES for a long time on a wide range of devices. So previous availability of the games on the respective classic consoles has nothing to do with it.

Muzikguy1963d ago

This makes zero sense and sounds like a lot of rambling. Miles better? Bloated love? Nintendo has nothing to offer? I love the Sony systems but this is utter nonsense

I wanted this to be good, especially for the kids or friends to come over and play some old great titles. Where I understand why Sony choose the titles they did, mostly because they own little to if any of the IPs that made the PS1 great and 3rd party license fees obviously add up, I don’t understand why they choice to do such poor emulation of some of the included titles. Oh well, maybe one day we’ll at least get PS1 titles for the PS4 or even PS5.

A cash grab that couldn't capture the attention of the nostalgic crowd it was aiming for.

deno1963d ago

Gamestop dropping it to $40.00 plus tax I believe next month. I will definitely pick it up.

Elda1963d ago (Edited 1963d ago )

Price cut because no one is buying it.My Pro is fine no need for one.

Xbox No Longer Has Its Head In The Game

Microsoft & Xbox have shut down Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks to lay off more workers, insinuating that they're not in the game anymore.

XiNatsuDragnel2d ago

They're headless for a long time because closing tango isn't exactly a good move

PapaBop1d 6h ago

Ever since that cringe Kinect reveal they've never been the same. They used to make some amazing games and do great deals with third parties Early on in the 360 era they had games like Chromehounds and Shadowrun, both well ahead of their time. Now instead of nurturing their studios, they'd rather gaslight gamers and throw billions on pre existing studios. Not sure how Spencer is still in a job, I wouldn't trust him to organise a piss-up in a brewery.

Father__Merrin1d 6h ago

We've said all along Spencer needs to go. I wish xbox went back to xbox only with new gears fable forza halo releases lots of third party releases

Those early rainbow 6 Vegas days and phantasy star universe are gone forever

S2Killinit1d 3h ago

MS has its head in the game but the game they are playing is something different from what console gamers expect from a platform. MS’s end game has always been to use the xbox as a trojan horse.

XiNatsuDragnel1d ago

Lol that's funny well this plan they have isn't working homie

“Acquisitions always come with cuts”

343 trillion points shield activated
343 trillion percent damage negate activated
All damage reduced to 1 for 343 trillion turns.
MICROSOFT DEFENSE FORCE IS A GO

Tacoboto1d 23h ago

Especially for Microsoft, when Booty pretty much said they didn't know how to handle that many studios.

Why even make the acquisition then.

-Foxtrot1d 22h ago

Didn’t they make the swipe for Bethesda when Sony wanted like 6 months exclusiveness for Starfield

It’s like…chill, you got Rise of the Tomb Raider for a year.

romulus231d 21h ago

Do they always come with senseless cuts becasue that's exactly what cutting Tango was, senseless.

H91d 23h ago

Everyone's acting now that game companies care about games and Xbox is committing the Ultimate betrayal, they are all like this and you have just been quiet about it for far too long

Nuclearmoon1d 22h ago

I wonder if Microsoft do pull out of the console market that it might open the door for valve to relaunch the Steambox. Competition is good for the industry but Microsoft don't even seem to be trying anymore.

UltimateOwnage1d 18h ago

Steam / Valve are one of the few truly pro-consumer bright spots in gaming right now. Thankfully.

Jingsing6h ago

From all the money Valve make from Steam they reinvest almost 0 into creating new AAA titles for the PC platform, Absolutely no giving nothing back in that regard. Wake up.

“Your game has won some pretty significant awards and is a show piece for where we want to go in the future.”

1 hour later.

“We’re gonna have to let you go. You can’t cover our 100 billion dollar acquisition. Oh and take your awards too 👍🏾”

Microsoft Opening Xbox Mobile Game Store in July

The Xbox brand is expanding, as an Xbox mobile game store is opening this coming July where Microsoft will brings its "first-party portfolio."

Jin_Sakai3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

“Bond adds that they will start on the web”

This will go nowhere.

Nice knowing you Xbox. This is what happens when the house never gets cleaned.

MrDead3d ago

The only this MS is expanding is the amount of feculence it sprays on everyone who just want to enjoy gaming and make games.

The best thing MS can do for the gaming industry is leave and never return.

XiNatsuDragnel3d ago

Good luck with this even it might not succeed.
