Dragon Quest Builders 2 opened at 110,285 retail sales on PlayStation 4 and 97,673 on Switch for a total of 207,958 physical copies moved during its opening week, the latest Media Create sales figures reveal.
While the total of its combined SKUs were higher, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate maintained its top position with an additional 452,617 retail sales—breaking its way through to two million sales. The holiday rush also saw high numbers for Super Mario Party at 155,060 sales and Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! / Let’s Go, Eevee! at 144,770 sales.
Also new last week, Onimusha: Warlords opened at 21,367 retail sales on PlayStation 4 (the Switch version did not chart in the top 20), Katamari Damacy Reroll for Switch opened at 11,665 sales, and Super Neptunia RPG for PlayStation 4 opened at 11,521 sales (the Switch version was not released in Japan).
On the hardware side, Switch sold 278,701 units, the PlayStation 4 family sold 75,433 units, and the 3DS family sold 26,936 units. All are down from last week, but not by much.
Video Game soundtracks are an essential part of the game, setting the tone, warning you of impending danger, or for some of us, useful background music whilst studying or working on projects.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate will host a new Spirits event on March 21 to celebrate the release of Princess Peach Showtime! and Super Mario Bros Wonder. The event will last for five days with new Spirits from the Nintendo Switch games.
All playable March 19.
It's always the ine they leave out if the headline that interests me most 😅 DBZ Kakarot, been waiting for this to pop up on plus
Never played Midnight Suns and probably won’t anytime soon but maybe someday. Pretty good month not great not horrible. I used to love sports games when I was a kid but that was before the monetization they went through and now I avoid them.
Heard a lot of good things about Midnight Suns! Also looking forward to Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and will probably download 2K24 as well.
Not a great month for me. Will give Midnight Suns a go.
I've never played Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier. Might give it a go although it's supposed to just be okay.
Never played a Phoenix Wright game before, so might try Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy.
Again, third party game selling better on PS4 than on Switch.
Judgment and God Eater 3 should reach 200k next week.
Builders 2 rocks! Superbly weird, fun and quirky game with excellent design enhancements over the original. Just watching it is fun, particularly when you get past the first large area.
Looks like Switch won't beat PS4's LTD numbers by the end of year. PS4 still leads by over 800k.
Smash just might end up passing Splatoon 2 in Japan. A game that refuses to leave the top 10.
Lots of big sales. Smash is a monster, DQB 2 is gonna be very successful, Super Mario Party is the big surprise and Pokemon Let's Go will end up selling 2 million in Japan.
