Kingdom Hearts 3 retail copies leaked more than a month in advance, beware of spoilers

Although Kingdom Hearts 3 is set to release at the end of January, it appears some people have already gotten their hands on the retail copy of the game.

More likely thrown in jail for theft. The console makers could actually disable the game until closer to release if they wanted. I think they might avoid that, because they don't want people realizing that's an actual thing. If it's being pressed already, it's possible Square may change the release date. But over a month ahead of time is really pushing it.

According to his posts he said he knew when the game is coming out. Square might be able to sue him on the premise of leaking, not just theft.

Square could certainly sue him. But the criminal activity would take precedence. His incarceration would bolster any lawsuit, and in this case, Square would have a pretty strong case, given that the guy would have not only a criminal record, but breaking the ethicacy policies of the distribution center, either because he worked there, or was in some way responsible for it's transit. UPS drivers that get caught doing stuff similar to this really aren't in a good place if they're caught, so anything that person may have is taken away by any lawsuit.

Guy could be in for a world of hurt financially and legally, so hope the thrill of making a quick buck and gaining some internet fame for a bit was worth it to him.

Granted, this presumes that the story is even true, and this isn't just some sort of publicity stunt or internet hoax....which is possible given the way things are nowadays.

So we have confirmation development was never delayed. Nomura stated that he simply decided to release the game after New Years so it would avoid the Holiday rush. So many yearly games come out over the Holidays like CoD/Battlefield/Assasins Creed so it's beneficial to wait.

Sony and others do the same thing now which is why many of the best games come out after New Years(Horizon, Resident Evil 2, etc). It's an emerging market.

And that's why we have confirmation of this today- some assholes are selling early copies of the game already.

Which prompts the question if Square-Enix should move the release date up because we're all at risk to get spoiled...

Not saying they have to or will, but as a fan we're kind of in a crappy scenario.

There's some hope that Square may be able to get early copies banned from being played on the consoles. The people who brought these copies technically brought stolen copies, which is a crime in itself. I wouldn't suggest they go and have those people arrested....that's just too much to the extreme. But the mechanisms are in place to block a game on the system, even if its a retail. The only way for the gamer to avoid it would be to remain offline for any updates.

Right. Like Kingdom Hearts story is mega important. I’ll spoil it for all of you right now. The protagonist win at the end. No one dies. No betrayals. There.

There are lots of betrayals in KH. Just not really among the "good guy" main cast.

KH is kind of a dark story, but overall, and while Disney-esque, doesn't always follow Disney standard fare princess stories. It's not really an overly complex story though, like some people make it out to be.

That said, a happy ending is likely. But it could also be one of those "thought provoking" endings which is pretty lame and doesn't really explain anything, and people end up acting like it's something amazing, and that anyone who doesn't understand is just too stupid to get it. Seen a lot of that in long series that come to an end, because sometimes, the writers are just too scared to have a story that actually concludes in one way...to which I can think they're just aftraid of being criticized for it.

So...my spoiler is there will be some talk about the vaguely defined Kingdom Hearts being something about light. Keyblades which were first unique, now having hundreds of keyblade masters, as well as what seems like an infinite number of blades being perfectly normal, and all sorts of characters who were dead, really aren't dead, but were just off somewhere in the darkness, or somehow inexplicably just in hiding suddenly making an appearance with no foreshadowing, and it being a major revelation because of .....reasons....followed by superlative reactions which don't make much sense because no one knows how they hell they were 5 minutes beforehand, will likely make up the journey to the end. Kairi and Sora end up living happily ever after, and that other dude probably dies, because he's expendable anyways, but he'll still live on in their hearts, because despite him being an a** half the time, he's still their friend for some reason. I mean...killing a bunch of people is cool and all, so long as he comes to his senses and saves them at a pivotal moment in the story. Or something.

Who knows though. I'll play it either way.
