Darksiders III Review - IGN

The kind of mid-tier action game we don't see much of any more.

LucasRuinedChildhood1992d ago (Edited 1992d ago )

How many of you guys are interested in Darksiders 3? GameSpot has destroyed the game's Metascore although it is rising again.

UltraNova1992d ago

I am, I love the devs old school heavy metal approach.

LucasRuinedChildhood1992d ago

Yeah, I do too. It's a shame that puzzles are less of a factor in this one though. I'll miss Darksiders 2's Prince Of Persia wall-running and wall-scaling as well. It's a weird omission considering Fury seems to function a lot like the Dark Prince from Prince Of Persia: The Two Thrones (hair on fire, chain whip, whip used for platforming, etc).

I'm happy to hear that Darksiders 3 is more challenging and that the boss fights are great though.

darthv721992d ago

I have to play this seeing as i am a fan of the previous entries. Don't really care what the scores may be. I hope they make an epic 4th game in the series to close it out and tie it all back together.

GrimReaperGamer1992d ago

I absolutely love this franchise, it's ranked #1 out of my top 5 gaming franchises of all-time.

Day 1 purchase, as I already have my pre-order paid off at my local Ebgames.

LucasRuinedChildhood1992d ago

I actually only got into the series properly with the recent remasters (I think I originally both them cheap second-hand but never got around to them but I both the remasters digitally at full price). 1 and 2 really were fantastic games. I hope I feel similarly about 3.

SamPao1992d ago (Edited 1992d ago )

its waiting for me on my PS at home. From all I see its a real Darksiders :) cant wait

lelo2play1992d ago

Well... it's better then Fallout 76.

I liked Darksiders 1 and 2... so I'm getting Darksiders 3.

Gwiz1992d ago

IDK after the perfect score fest of RDR2 i'm willing to take a chance with this.
(to me RDR2 is a good game but just overhyped imo)

Dark_Knightmare21992d ago

Already have it paid off can’t wait till Tuesday

I_am_Batman1992d ago (Edited 1992d ago )

Well I'm generally interested. A 70s metascore has never deterred me from liking a game. I have to play the other 2 first though. Got them both installed on my PS4 but didn't get around to play them yet. If I like them I'll pick this up afterwards.

n1kki61992d ago

Im glad some sites are starting to use the entire scoring range of 1-10, not just 7-10

GrimReaperGamer1992d ago

The main thing I'm hoping is the game does well enough so that Gunfire Games & THQ Nordic make the 4th/final game of the series.

noprin1991d ago

I loved DS1 and DS2,esp DS1 which I finished twice
but this one,I dont feel the game has any identity,I dont like fury design(compare to war bad-ass voice or death epic design) and I dont like the level progression and the thing that everyone is always at the same level as you
I dont know,I might try it later

I actually completely forgot that this game still existed.

Blu3_Berry1992d ago

I think a 7/10 or 8/10 is where this game will lie in which is completely ok. It's not setting out to reinvent anything and is trying to be a bit more old-school. I'm personally looking forward to it and I think people will enjoy it long as they know what to expect and not expect the next god of war.

theshredded1992d ago

Decent score but scores don't matter when it comes to games I know I'll like.

fluxmulder1992d ago

Cool, this is about the score I was expecting. Can't wait to play it.

It's Been 13 Years Since The Cliffhanger, When's The Darksiders Finale Coming?

Now that all of Darksiders' horsemen have been explored, it's about time we get the epic team-up the first game left us hanging for.

Embracer went on a massive studio buying spree in hopes one deal with saudis would go through and it didn’t.
Now they are shutting down studios and looking for cash after spending most of it on acquisitions.
I wouldn’t get my hopes up for anything that Embracer owns.
They need to get out of this problem they made for themselves but it may never happen. They f’d up big time.
Darksiders has little hope at this moment

Darksiders III for Nintendo Switch Review (The Gamers Lounge)

Darksiders III on Nintendo Switch is a mostly well-done port that is likely to take a lot of people by surprise given its huge graphical upgrade over its previous generation predecessors. While the game itself is far from perfect, it should be commended that even with a few downgrades here and there, the overall integrity of the game remains intact and officially completes the entire Darksiders series being available on Nintendo Switch, which lends itself nicely to handheld play despite a AAA production that's as epic and grandiose as the series has ever been.

Darksiders III Nintendo Switch OLED Review - The Wrath of Fury I The Koalition

Adam Vale of The Koalition writes: When thinking about some of my favorite hack & slash adventure games of last-gen, Darksiders and Darksiders II pop up in my head. The story was unique, and the combat was satisfying with creative level design. For whatever reason, I never picked up Darksiders III. So here we are in 2021 and Darksiders III has been ported to my preferred portable gaming device. This is why I held off on reviewing this game until my Nintendo Switch OLED arrived. At least 90% of my gaming on the Switch is in handheld mode and I wanted to experience this horrid creature-infested world on the new vibrant OLED screen.

Despite the issues with the game itself, Darksiders III still looks great on the Nintendo switch OLED model.
