Forget dumbing down - the next major Pokemon game should get rid of wild battles just like Let's Go

From VG247: "When Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee were first announced, I was unsure on its mix of classic mechanics and those lifted from Pokemon Go. Now, however, I’m convinced one major change is the future of the series. That change is the decision to strip wild Pokemon battles out of the game."

If it's in the same style as let's go then yeah but it's anything like the fan concept we saw earlier in the week then I think it would be cool to actually control the Pokemon for battles then use the go mechanic for capture.

About 6 hours into Lets Go and the lack of wild battles is growing on me, but I will say it definitely takes some of fun out of the game. Just spamming pokeballs to try and catch every pokemon you see is no where near as rewarding as the challenge to try and actually fight it to a manageable health before attempting to catch it.

Why can't they just give the option for wild battles in settings?

The next Pokémon game should lend a lot of things from Let's go , have the Pokémon walking around like let's go , but battle them to catch them. It will have all the features that have been "removed" from let's go even though they haven't been removed as Let's go is a faithful reamagining of the original Pokemon games.

I definitely can't go back to random encounters , it's completely out of date.

I'm okay with the next game, if you have to go through a battle with wild Pokemon, but no more random encounters. Having them spawn like they do really breathes life into the world, and gives the player a choice on how they would like to progress.
