A few months ago, the gaming community had its mind set that this generation is the end of 3rd party exclusives, and there will be a big push towards multiplatform. Over the past year, there were a lot of multiplatform games released from the older Oblivion, to the more contemporary Call of Duty, and to the more recent Bioshock.
There seems to be an agreement amongst gamers that the Xbox 360 always had the better version of the game because it's easier to program for, and of course sometimes that is true, but I also picked the above 3 examples to illustrate the point that sometimes the sheep mentality can be quite deceiving. The PlayStation 3 version is not "always" the worst one, and sometimes it may even be the prefer version due to the free cost of PSN or the addition of Trophy (if you prefer it over the Achievement system on your Xbox 360). Or even better graphics (Oblivion), or extra contents (Bioshock/Eternal Sonata). Of course, some of these games are late to the table and I will not argue with you that if you had both machines you would have probably already played Bioshock. But setting these matters aside there is something else worth discussing today...

It appears Sony is making changes to the PSN backend in order to pave the way for future cross-platform releases across PC and PS5.
If sony want their games to be more successful on pc and to sell more they need to bring the games day-one like helldivers 2! , and not after 2 years.
First party ps5 games need to be ps5 only until 6 months imo because they need to sell consoles still and then focus on PC later.
Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night has received a bunch of new DLC, including two new gameplay modes, for free.
Backward compatibility works for many games on newer consoles, but titles such as The Simpsons: Hit and Run have been left out.
from that data, i say it's quite possible to get a few exclusive as the margin widens with increasing install base.
Splinter Cell:Conviction won't be an exclusive unless Microsoft is publishing it.
How does it feel knowing that 3rd parties no longer look at your platform as the bread winner?
Sony
Well, they absolutley need it. Sony has been kicked around this gen like an ugly poodle... No respect from fans, consumers, media or 3rd party.
I hope Sony can earn some love back. We need the ol' dog in there.
torrent blu-rays. DVDs are so last gen, that's why developers worry about their games being pirated like crazy.
