Team Ninja solidified themselves as an iconoclaustic, singular minded developer back in the early-mid 2000’s (during the sixth generation of consoles). They made the games that they wanted to make, how they wanted to make it and whichever console they wanted on. While a lot of developers would not imagine their games to not be on the PlayStation 2 those days (due to the console’s formidable install base), Team Ninja chose a different path. They openly declared that console to be an inferior piece of hardware, and under the formidable leadership of their enigmatic, charismatic and famously headstrong leader Tomonobu Itagaki – committed themselves 100% to making games under the original Xbox (Though they did port the Dreamcast Dead or Alive to the PS2, with stellar results)
Atari has acquired Intellivision. The company announced today that it had acquired its long-time rival, ending one of the original console rivalries, dating back to the 1970s.
Wow.... two of my earliest gaming platforms. All they need is Coleco to round things out.
This is like Nintendo buying SEGA.
Good piece of history here.
edit: I wanted to read it but the cookies pop up is stopping me.
This was just before my time. I do remember my mom's friend having one all dusty in her apartment back in the day.

People forget that console wars are part of the history of this industry. The console wars were started by competitive companies all the way back then and continued through Sega vs Nintendo, Jaguar/3DO/NeonGeo, and PlayStation vs Nintendo and Xbox.
These companies are across oceans and competing for the same business. These companies created the console wars, not crazy fanboys.
I had both. Snafu on Intellivision was addicting as hell. Also had Colecovision which had Time Pilot. Combat was probably my favorite Atari game and both Atari and Intellivision had similar games like Pitfall and Jungle Hunt. It’s been so long I don’t really remember which game I liked bettter out of those but I did play my Intellivision a bit more than Atari though I’m not sure why besides Snafu. That was 40+ years ago damn I’m old lol

Big update, I've decided to hire @ShamsJorjani as the new CEO of @ArrowheadGS ! We go way back and I wouldn't trust the business in any other hands than his. (...and he comes with an impressive resume and love for games)
But what about me and my involvement in @Helldivers2 ? Well, I'm glad you asked! I am taking the role of Chief Creative Officer, which means I will spend MORE time with the team and 100% of my focus on the games and community!"
Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead on the success of its game, what comes next and dealing with toxic players
That's a weird way to say "Tenchu"
Really miss the series, hopefully it comes back soon, but with both DOA6 comming soon, and Ni-Oh 2 announced i know if it ever does it's likely a long ways off
There really needs to be a next gen Ninja Gaiden and Tenchu damnit! So many great gaming experiences with both of these games.
The best hack n slash mechanics ever made. thy ruined the series with shitty NG3
