Go screw yourselves Hacktivision

badz1492022d ago

yeap...I'll pass. love Spyro but I'm not gonna give in to this scummy practice

-Foxtrot2023d ago

LOL...Space issues? They are kidding right?

Crash Bandicoot fit on no problem and you have demanding games like the Nathan Drake Collection fitting on there

No excuses

anonymousfan2023d ago

Even if it was a size issue... They should have released a second disc. Blu-ray are dirt cheap in this day and age. But you're right it should have fit on 50 GB. I guess we'll find out the install size later.

Profchaos2022d ago

Nathan Drake wasn't native 4k

badz1492022d ago

LOL you think they put native 4K assets in there?

Platformgamer2023d ago

i'll wait the complete edition... and spyro is not a fighting game, craptivision needs to die already

nucky642022d ago

i'd really like to play; but, it's a no-buy for me until all 3 games are on the discs.....it's not even a hard decision.

isarai2022d ago

Same, i really live the original trilogy, but this is just unacceptable imo. This is destined to literally become a paper weight for anyone who plans to hold onto their physical copy. Once the servers no longer allow you to download the required data, its gone forever

rainslacker2022d ago (Edited 2022d ago )

Yep. Went from must buy, to might buy when it's cheap....and then, only if it doesn't require a download code, because those expire usually within 2 years of a release. If you can download just by putting in the game, then I'll buy new when it's cheap, because I only buy digital titles when they're cheap. So, if Activision is going to treat this like a digital title, I'll hold it to those standards.

Profchaos2022d ago

Three 4k titles can't fit on a Blu ray disc well I get it and it doesn't bother me all that much. I'm happy to see the game getting the 4k treatment so I'm happy regardless I could care less about a patch

rainslacker2022d ago (Edited 2022d ago )

BS. Looking at the trailers for these games, there is nothing about them which suggests that the textures used wouldn't easily fit onto a single disc. While they look good, they still aren't overly complex.

No way the textures and content of this game equal over 50 GB, and even if they did, much bigger games, or collections were able to fit on disc.

there is a great misconception that 4K requires something called 4K textures. There is no such thing as 4K textures. Just more detailed textures, and not everything needs massive detail when it's in 4K. 4K resolution, does not mean all the textures need to be bumped up to something massive because that's not how texture maps work.

If they're so concerned for space, then I hope they dont' have some stupid making of video, or retro outlook video, which could also be downloaded for those that care. Someone is going to analyze the file size of this game on disc, and it'll be apparent if Activision tries to hide the size of this game with a dummy file to make it look bigger than it is, because they know that people aren't happy about this.

In any case, they could have made it two discs. It's a collection, and it doesn't take many people not buying it because of this to make up the difference in cost for producing a 2nd disc.

Profchaos2022d ago

Still don't get what's wrong with a patch on day 1 rdr 2 had one and Spiderman had one but Spyro gets hate

rainslacker2022d ago

Because this isn't a patch. Only parts of the 2nd and 3rd game are on the disc. To get the full game, you need to download it. That's basically what they had before, and shows that Activision either didn't care, or didn't understand why people weren't happy with all 3 games not being on the disc.
