DEN: The Conduit Hands On

DEN writes: "The Conduit created hype by simply revealing its engine a few months back. An FPS engine for the Wii was more than a little shocking considering this year the Wii was declared dead by many for traditional gaming. Well, if the platform is dead, we have a zombie on our hands. Then again, considering that the developer is named High Voltage: maybe Frankenstein's monster is more appropriate.

The Wii still carries a lot of excitement for some people, but for many gamers there hasn't been a game that uses the waggle controls for games that excite them. Of course half of these people didn't bother playing No More Heroes, so I don't feel that sorry for them. No More Heroes was as much fun as Wii Sports but with a story and style that was meant for a less graying audience. However many gamers had already cynically written off the Wii and just waited for Mario Kart. Here we have another third party title that is directed squarely at gamers and it tries to give a solid FPS experience that fully embraces the motion controls."
