Are Switch ports getting out of hand?

Are you saying the PS4/X1 had no port during their second year on the market? By the way, most of those ports are brand new to alot of people that have never owned a Wii U, including myself.

Could say the same for literally any of the console's available now in their first 3 years, I never heard anyone complain about the ports the PS4 and Xbox One got by the truckload, how come those get a free pass? It makes more sense on the Switch since at least that's portable.

I agree with you it's a genuinely good thing! Although it's hard to keep track with... I think the issue is the lack of quality brand new and original games in contrast to ports. But that's just my two cents ;).

I think it's a bad thing when they release old ports as full priced game's 🙄 I'm not one to spend $90+ cnd for an older title where I can get it cheaper on another system

Porting a lot of Wii U games to the Switch isn't the problem to me. It's the price of some of these ports that's the issue. Some I think should be charged full price since they didn't sell very well initially while others shouldn't.

Games have always been frequently ported for generations. This is not some new phenomenon.

I say support the Switch so that more developers can create brand new IP's. In response to ports, I agree this year leading into next is heavy with ports. On the other hand, many of the ports were brand new to me, so I look forward to them.

In terms of indie's no the Switch is the perfect machine for indie developers to make games for but AAA? absolutely no.

Sure games from the previous gens are fine but current gen games on PS4/XB1 should never be ported to the Switch, the hybrid simply lacks the power.

The more games the merrier. The Switch is only going to get some current AAA games that are either not particularly taxing or are very scalable (e.g. id Software games like Doom). If people are happy to buy the games, I see no issue.

The problem is ports at full price. They should be 39.99 max. I love that everybody complained that TWEWY was too expensive at 19.99 on the Apple Store. Yet a port of that game for the switch is twice as much and nobody complains...

The switch announced it had 1000 games released on its console. Nintendo's seal of approval has really dropped its quality for quantity.

Some games on the switch look pathetic (especially a few Indy titles). Then you got the buggy wrestling games. With the price hikes on these titles as well, I'm more disappointed in Nintendo and it's digital service.

For AAA ports I don't really mind. Diablo 3 was one of the titles I really want for the switch. Along with a borderlands game would be amazing.

Nintendo is still pumping out their titles, no amount of ports or 3rd party games is gonna stop that. It's just helping to fill out the library.

I've literally played 2 of these prior to them being on the Switch, one with any time at all. I am very happy they are available, even if I'm not getting all of them.

absolutely.. not everyone plays every single game. I never played LA Noire, Doom or Wolfenstein before. So at least I have options on where I play them. I understand that the ports might not be tecnically on par with the others, but that's the price we pay for having a mobile system I guess.
