dudeee sleeping dogs is fantastic

Kostche2024d ago

sleeping dogs was great game, shame they went for online instead of sd2

So many great memories playing these games! Kingdom of Amular:Reckoning was awesome and with THQ Nordic buying the IP back I'm hopeful we'll get a remaster and a sequel!

Dragons Dogma was another last gen treasure! I loved the Japanese take on Western staples and merging them with Shadow of the Colossus esque gameplay mechanics on top of great creature designs and a beautiful world!

Second Son was cool enough but hopefully one day SP revisits it with Cole battling The Beast who it turns out was Deslin. Sunset Overdrive was cool I just wish someone else owned it so we'd get a sequel. Dying Light is great especially The Following and I love how at night it gets super dangerous!

I've never heard of Hover so I'll check it out.

Segata2025d ago

I love KoA but no remaster will happen. EA still has the rights to the first game. So a sequel is pretty much the only option.

NovusTerminus2025d ago

Some of these I don't think should be here, mostly Dying Light since it has sold more then 13 million copies.

Dragons Dogma is an amazing game, and something more open world games should look at, it's class diversity and combat was the best in it's genre,

I also think Gravity Rush should be here, it's a super good game.

Segata2025d ago

Dragon's Dogma is such a great game. I really hope we get a sequel.

Kostche2024d ago

that game deserves a sequel, is an amazingly fun game

PhantomS422025d ago

Kingdoms of Amalur and Dragon's Dogma were fantastic, too bad it doesn't look like we will ever get proper sequels. KoA probably has the higher chance after being bought by THQ but I'm not holding my breath until something is revealed.

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Receives New Rating

Rating for Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition has seemingly been updated in Australia, leading to many speculations among the community.

isarai731d ago

Still says it's under SquareEnix 😒 was hoping it would've been u der someone else after their sale of studios and IPs

porkChop731d ago

The sale hasn't gone through yet though. Nothing will change hands until then. Square Enix said they only kept certain franchises like Outriders. It's reasonable to assume anything they didn't name was sold.

smashman98731d ago

Sleeping dogs is a dead ip that square bought separate from eidos. It’s probably fair to assume they didn’t sell it.

Knightofelemia731d ago (Edited 731d ago )

Sale still has to go through and be approved it doesn't just happen over night like buying a used car. Also depends what franchises Square included in the sale along with the studios as well if Sleeping Dogs is still owned by SquareEnix then they will label it as such. Also if they have prior commitments then they also have to honor that as well. Then after that commitment is fulfilled after a while then that said franchise the new owner can do anything they want with it. Like Microsoft had to honor the exclusive games Bethesda made for the PS5 or else they would be forced to pay out those contracts. After those contracts are full filled a game like Deathloop will most likely appear on Xbox. Microsoft after that can do what ever they want with the game.

SinisterMister731d ago

Cut Isarai some slack. A Sleeping Dogs sequel can be handled by a better publisher than Square in these recent times. Let's just hope it doesn't stay that way.

An underrated game, definitely worth a sequel.

Certainly agree with that.

rpvenom731d ago

I've been saying this for years. We need a sequel.. I would even love it if they did a remake from the people who made Sifu. Or if the two studios joined forces to make a sequel.. that'd be epic!

The Australian classification office will occasionally go back and look at old prices of media if they receive a complaint. So it could have been as simple as a parent complained about the rating as R18 was not an available video game rating when the game originally launched.

I'm not going to get my hopes up I've seen enough leaked internal memos as to why true crime and later sleeping dogs was considered a fail also square won't greenlight a game unless it will sell call of duty numbers

SinisterMister731d ago

Interesting point, but what are your sources regarding seeing Sleeping Dogs as a "fail?" I thought the game did great.

Profchaos731d ago

Here it sold 1.75 million which was below what square wanted. However we all know square is never happy and fails to understand the difference between neiche games and cultural phenomenon titles.

True Crime: New York City Is a Hidden Gem Lost to Time

One of the many video games that have faded into obscurity is True Crime: New York City, a title with a lot of heart but not enough support.

My friend and I loved this game. The first one is always is my favorite though.

P_Bomb858d ago

Had it, beat it, regret trading it in.

Abnor_Mal857d ago

I had this game, was fun for the time. Trying to chase down Puffy and JLo in the limo fleeing the club shooting. I'm not really sure if you caught them or it was just a call on the police radio.

Gamer79857d ago

It was good, but wouldn't call it amazing.

I've loved this game since I got it Christmas 2005. Despite the glitches, I enjoyed it a lot

Castlevania and Resident Evil are always good

Neonridr956d ago

the old stuff here vastly outshines the newer stuff, lol

How about scraping Games with Gold and reducing both XB Live Gold and XB GamePass Ultimate by $5 per month.

I don't mind the games with gold, but in reality it has been a long time since I really cared about what came on games with gold.

John_McClane955d ago

Getting rid of the gold paywall entirely works for me.

NeoGamer232955d ago

@John_McClane
I believe in paying for services you use. You look at the console vendors and they run a network that tracks your gamer profile, does your games saves, and provides an environment for multi-player. The servers and infrastructure to do this is expensive and has to be paid for somehow.

I like a direct payment method rather then hiding the costs behind something else. No matter what they have to find a way to make money off the investments they make. No company does stuff for free. Now with PSNow and XB GamePass I think both should just drop the free games (that aren't really free because they allocate Gold and Plus money to buy those games) I think it is time the the free games are dropped and the subscriptions drop in price as well.

I loved Aaero. I bought it on PS4 a few years ago and got hooked (some great tunes in there). I will happily double dip and try and grab a few achievements blitzing through the earlier difficulties again.

darthv72956d ago

I havent played Code Veronica since the Dreamcast. I assume this is that but in HD?

Yui_Suzumiya955d ago

Yeah, it had an HD remaster during the PS3 / 360 era

babadivad955d ago

Same. That game was long AF!!

Damn, I just bought code name Veronica. Lol. I was eyeballing the Castlevania game due to the recent Tokyo Gameshow Sale, but I guess I’ll just get it here instead.

VersusDMC955d ago

Nope. That would make no sense...but there is going to be a Devil May Cry and Castlevania anime crossover.

So anything is possible.
