Join Paul, Matto and Damo from Player 2 as they discuss the games that they believe are in desperate need for a sequel.
TSA writes: With 151,000 copies sold in North America alone on release day and a total lifetime sales of 3.63 million, Pokémon Snap! was – and still is – a fan favourite and the 11th highest selling Nintendo 64 game. There’s been calls for a sequel for the last 22 year, but it’s only now that Nintendo are finally granting Pokéfans’ wishes with ‘New Pokémon Snap’ releasing 30th April 2021.
Why haven't these games been rebooted for modern platforms?
Parasite Eve's issue is that it's based on a novel and the writer took back the rights.
Something like Bloody Roar I'd put down to the decline of fighters at the time and that modern game design philosophy doesn't support morphing.
I mean, could probably do where a character changes fighting styles as they change form, but such might be prohibitive given the way things are done currently.
Why haven't these games been rebooted yet?
Interesting list. I'd take a Sunset Riders and Gunstar Heroes. Still play them today. Love 2D games.
I know there's so many other games to choose from but you should have mentioned Treasure's other game too: Guardian Heroes. But I guess you would have to mention every other awesome 2D game. 90's gaming was great.
