Review: Firewall Zero Hour | VRFocus

A finely crafted VR shooter that manages to avoid the problems of many other VR multiplayers.

Bennibop2111d ago

Fantastic game, every psvr owner should pick it up!!

Ratchet752111d ago

Love that game so much , I don't know how I am gonna make time to play Spiderman.
Seriously, I have spent my all summer getting rid of my backlog just to be ready
For Spiderman and boom,
that game just took me by surprise and made me unable to drop my aim controller ever since. Best VR shooter imo

Outside_ofthe_Box2111d ago (Edited 2111d ago )

Killer App the naysayers have been waiting for???

Also is the game still fun without the aim controller?

Do you play standing up or sitting down? [I ask this because I saw a gameplay video on youtube and he was playing while standing]

jjb19812111d ago

I've been wondering about this but somehow your opinion convinces me to buy it...

skwidd2111d ago

@Outside-box
I play with the aim standing up. There’s variety of players out there but I asked a few on how they play with the aim and it seems like most do it standing up. Some people don’t have enough room so they play sitting but they seem to also be the ones with a standard controller. The game is super fun. Half the fun is communicating with teammates

Bennibop2110d ago

You can play Sat down or stood up, its a fine with a controller just better with aim.

Been playing since wednesday and cant stop playing. so fun and addictive (and i normaly dont enjoy PvP-games that much)

crazyCoconuts2111d ago

Same here. Gonna be playing tonight. Tracking while ADS doesn't seem as good as it is in Farpoint, hope they patch that

LamerTamer2111d ago (Edited 2111d ago )

Don't like online only multiplayer only so no.

Leeroyw2111d ago

Omg Omg Omg.

Okay. Now that's out of my system. Time to dust off the aim vr.

generic-user-name2111d ago

Easily VR GOTY, amazing game. Feels more like playing Paintball or Airsoft than a video game.

Profchaos2111d ago (Edited 2111d ago )

I've got this Game in my basket on psn I've just been so hesitant to buy it after all its a mp only game from a dev that was unproven.

I'm hesitant to pay $60 Australia for a game that might be dead in two months.

But from all the reviews and feedback I'm really missing out I think I'll finish up the transaction and buy it now.

BLUEKNIFE2111d ago

Its hard to explain how good this game is, you can't stop playing unless you run out of battery on your aim controller.
This is an evolution of first person shooter genre. I can't go back and play COD or BF in flat screen after trying Firewall Zero Hour

Firewall Zero Hour was the game that just kept giving. Those guys worked real hard on the game and it was awesome fun.

PSVR2 compatibility? Sequel??

Neonridr653d ago

I'd love a new game for PS VR2.

Watch Sony acquire these guys in the next year.

jukins652d ago

They really need to. They havevthe potential to make a vr gane that catapults vr to mainstream or at least an esports staple. I honestly cant wait to see what theyll do with way more power and a way more capable headset at their disposal

MadLad652d ago

I hope they don't.
This site hates big companies keeping devs and their IP away from people.

You're probably mistaking single studio acquisitions with massive multi-billion dollar publisher acquisitions which include tens of studios and established IPs in just 2 fell swoops.

Firewall Zero Hour: Operation: Rubicon arrives tomorrow

From PS Blog: "Hi all! Damoun Shabestari (aka Shabs) here, game director at First Contact Entertainment — developers behind Firewall Zero Hour*, the team-based multiplayer shooter exclusive to PlayStation VR**.

Since launching nearly three years ago, we have continued to offer our players new content in the form of seasonal operations. I am excited to announce that the seventh season of Firewall Zero Hour will be kicking off July 13, with Operation: Rubicon."

New operation but no new map. Shame.

Should have been putting in more modes and maps into Firewall than creating Solaris. Gamers are barely playing that one. And it just came out.

SullysCigar1065d ago

Solaris is okay, but it's not pulling people from Firewall. Firewall is still a great game.

Also, Alvo seems to have attracted the players Solaris was after. Alvo is really good fun, COD-like, and they have more content on the way, I hear.

There were better prices on the PlayStation Store as regular sales and Christmas time frame. I got Sairento and AC7 for $15 new. And that was physical at Gamestop and Target respectively.

As for Fruit Ninja, I think this is the ONLY price drop I've ever seen for that game. And I still won't buy it at that price. The developers are nonexistent and have kept FN at full price since launch almost 4 years ago. Want to be ninja? Get Sairento. You'll thank me later.

Shop around. You can always get a better deal until you can't.
