It's not necessarily the graphics or texture quality but the lighting and scale. When in the outdoor environment i'll be shocked if the processors in the og xbox and ps4 can cope with all that without many effects being dialled down.

I'll just get the PS4 version cause even though I have a gtx 1080 right now. I'm sure it will outdated and unable to run Cyberpunk 2077 properly (like Crysis). So PS4 will be more than good enough.

Heck, we might only have to wait six months from initial release for that, and that might mean I'll hold off on a day 1 buy. I'm definitely planning on picking it up, though, as it looks like quality gameplay and great RPG design.

This game screams "delayed" imo. I'm willing to bet that it does get released closer to when the new gen consoles are about to release.

In any case it will be hard to stay away from this when it does drop on day one.

You're right, i7 8700K, 32GB DDR4 and 1080 Ti and was running sluggish.
Lots of optimisation to come but for base Xbox One and PS4 its probably gonna be 720p 30fps game

1080 Ti is 11.3TFLOPs

Cuz the Witcher 3's open landscape was so refreshingly serene I actually sent in my Xbox for a refurb just so they could send me one back with a quieter fan. This one waterfall in southeast Skellige was so tranquill I turned my sound system up so all I could hear was the waterfall, wind, and animal noises. It was wonderfully therapeutic for I live a fast paced city life.

Every once in a while I looked on at the landscape and knitted a cardy for my son. I went into a trance at one point and lost two days. But it was worth it, I felt fulfilled. My life was whole.

See, had they just released the demo and not had people write about it for so long you wouldn’t have had the expectations you did. I think them holding the demo privately and having editors write crazy amount of articles about how much of a game changer it is actually was worse for them than showing it off immediately.

That being said, it’s still more amazing than any game I’ve seen but I too imagined it to be even crazier due to all the articles that hyped it.

See, this is where you are factually wrong. What their marketing team did was genious. Litterally none of my friends have heard about the game, but now everyone knows about it. If they just released the gameplay demo withouth any hype from the media, I don't think they would have garnered THIS much attention that they have.

Have a look at their youtube video. It has 3.4 million views. 9 million watched their livestream. It's insane.

I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying. The marketing may have drives up hype but the articles pitched this as the second coming of Christ. That was where I feel the damage was done in a sense judging by how some people were let down.

Had this been unveiled to everyone at the same time I don’t think there would have been nearly as high expectations as there was derived by media outlets. It’s an incredible game but I feel the game people dreamt up from reading impressions wasn’t realized in the demo unveil.

Also, where do you have evidence of “factually” being wrong?

exactly what crimson is saying. That's my problem, it looks great, but I don't get the overhyping making it sound like it will change all games forever type of talk. It's just a great looking sandbox? singleplayer game. Nothing game changing about it. Just like nothing was game changing about the witcher

Honestly feel the same way. Like yeah the game looks great and I'm getting it day one regardless, but there wasn't any 'WOW's for me.

Maybe it's because I'm not really into FPSs like that, but I don't think it being in 3rd person would have changed my impression though. The narrative and attention to detail was really impressive however, which is why I think I was able watch the entire 48 minutes. Usually with long demos I skip to the actual action/gameplay parts to get good feel to see if the game is for me or not, but here I was glued for entire demo.

cdpr already heavily hinted at this game being cross gen, so i wonder how will the next gen version look like. will it be more like the footage we saw yesterday (or is that what they wish to achieve on hardware more resembling of current gen) and what sort of upgrades we will see for the next gen edition (framerates, graphical improvements, NPC diversity and numbers etc.)

You don't have to think too much. Next gen will probably be 4k, better antialising, texture filtering, better shadows, better draw distance, better postprocess, textures and such. Basic gameplay and story elements will be the same.

Got i7 6700k which is probably gonna be minimum spec judging from the E3 PC that was 1440p 30fps lol
1080 Ti was also in that E3 right, I have one of those, I'll be happy with 1440p but 30fps doesn't sound playable.
Optimisations will help hopefully! or 2080 Ti? xD
