We Happy Few's borderline broken systems and unremarkable quest design make it an unentertaining slog through an intriguing world.

With a backlog like mine, this game isn't even worth a try.

Too bad, the art direction and setting are very intriguing.

It's not amazing, but I'm enjoying myself. I'd give it a 6 or 7/10. Some reviewers are being overly critical. I will say MS looks dumb for buying Compulsion though. Unless like with Undead Labs with State of Decay 2 they're fine releasing unfinished games that can't get above a 70 on metacritic.

PoopsMcGee2104d ago

GameSpot scores are almost always below the metacritic average. I like how they use the full scale. It seems like most sites only use 5-10 for the vast majority of games...

There's not really anything wrong with owning a few B-studios.

isa_scout2103d ago (Edited 2103d ago )

There is when the majority of devs MS owns is B-studios. Point me to the last MS studio to put out a goty contender on Xbox One? I'm saying this as a Xbox One owner that has been seriously let down this generation by MS.

There isn't anything wrong with buying studios that make sub-par games? Are you kidding?

The 10th Rider2102d ago

@Razzer,

It's still got a 65 average. That's not ideal . . . but people need to stop pretending like any game below a 8 is unplayable. It's an okay game, that's about it. I'm sure some people will have fun with it and there's room in the market for games like that.

@isa_scout,

I guess that is a bit of a problem. But I still don't think that means Microsoft looks dumb for buying Compulsion.

Ausbo2104d ago

They changed the vision of the game midway through. It wasn’t polished enough. I think Microsoft bought them because they can make a great creative story. They probably think with their resources, they can hire more and polish off the game better

isa_scout2103d ago

Fair enough. I can agree with this. I do think the story is top notch so far.

The studio better start making better games now under Microsoft or they will be shut down.

Report: Assassin's Creed Shadows to Require an Internet Connection Even If It's Single-Player Only

Assassin's Creed Shadows digital storefront pages are up, and it confirms the game will require an internet connection, and MTX.

Was sort of interested in this but if it's true it's an easy pass

jznrpg10m ago

It’s true for sure. Avatar game had online requirement

Terry_B5h ago

as usual..Don't Buy Ubisoft Games.

Skuletor1h ago

One thing that's messed up about this, is there will be people playing pirated versions of this without that restriction, while the paying customers will suffer. Just like how some games will have lower performance on PC due to DRM, while pirated copies don't.

Anyone that wants to say something like "Who doesn't have internet access in this day and age?" There's plenty reasons people won't always have access, such as living in rural areas with spotty coverage, for example.

banger881h ago

Three single-player games in a row they've done this with now. Those f***ers weren't kidding when they said gamers need to be comfortable with not owning their games. As a physical collector, and somebody who enjoys Ubisoft's open worlds, this is a nightmare scenario for me. Absolute scumbag company.
