20 million is a lot considering how long the Switch has been out. Also, the Switch has a lot of jrpg fans who long for games like this. Heck, there are people who didn't own a Switch, but bought one just for this game. This game could easily reach 3-4 million by the end of the holidays.

Well in all fairness Square made Life is Strange which was an episodic indie title.

But yeah, Octopath Traveler is a full fledge 100+ hour JRPG designed to be digestible in it's nostalgic coat of paint. I'm almost 70hrs in and not even halfway through the characters' stories. This game is brilliant and massive!

This is by far my most favorite game on the Nintendo Switch. Now, if only we could get Nintendo to make fresh new ip like this! Still waiting on Metroid Prime 4, and Shin Megami Tensei... wich most likely wont come until fall 2019 or later.

Nintendo has made new IP's this year. AND is making metroid, and they stated it would not be a remake.

That's pretty incredible for a new IP that's a turn-based JRPG exclusive to a console with a 20 million install base . . .

Take note square Enix. Turn based-JRPGs *can* still be successful. Even if you don't want mainline Final Fantasy to be turn based again, at least give us a multiplatform turn-based spinoff and I bet loads of people will still eat it right up.

The game is so damn good. So addicting. The music should win the best soundtrack at the Game Awards no question. Knowing Square now has a dedicated Switch division and playing this game. I look forward to the great stuff they bring to the system.
