If it's struggling on a 1080 then that is a sign that it's poorly optimised.

kevnb2117d ago

That’s not struggling...

PurpHerbison2117d ago

A $600 dollar GPU unable to max out at 1440p 60fps is a sure sign of poor optimization.

FinalFantasyFanatic2117d ago

Do people forget how big of a difference there is between a 1080 and a 1080ti? 1440p and 60fps with these settings is still very playable and very comfy. Plus we don't know how much AA if any was used, you don't really need it for 1440p. Plus these are lowest fps and not averages.

This article is just written in a suss way for any with a technical background in computers. CPU limited? I'd bloody hope you're not when your running 1440p, unless your using like a dual core or 10+ year old CPU.

Hungryalpaca2117d ago

Yea it is. BF1 gets over 120fps at 1440p with a 1080 dude.

chris2352117d ago

like with almost every third party game

Vegamyster2117d ago

Most 3rd party games run fine this generation.

shauzy2117d ago

you mean most japanese games since they're new to the pc market

What a dull life you must lead...

@shauzy

Capcom has been making games on PC for at least 20 years.

Reading the article it doesn't sound as bad as the title makes it appear.

"Do note that the aforementioned numbers appear to be minimum framerates as the user provided a comparison between the Highest settings with and without Volume Rendering Quality, and the game was running with 78fps."

That said the game was all over the place performance wise on consoles including the Pro/X, can't say i'd be shocked if it's challenging to run with everything cranked, hopefully the Min/Required recommendations are more accurate.

FinalFantasyFanatic2117d ago

I don't think people in this thread actually read the article...

Vegamyster2117d ago

Doesn't seem like it given the disagrees, it's a poorly worded title that the user who posted the numbers even stated it was not supposed to be used as the average performance of the game.

kookwes2117d ago

or that the new driver release from Nvidia could be night and day.

Razzer2117d ago

Meh.....I'll play it on high settings then for 60 FPS.

ChrisW2117d ago

Exactly! Anyone smart enough would do this.

Besides, it's not worth over-stressing and potentially shortening the life of your GPU just for a couple extra nice looking pixels.

Razmiran2117d ago

Unless the game looks leaps and bounds better on pc, its poorly optimized
The game looks good, but not THAT good

kevnb2117d ago (Edited 2117d ago )

The one x has something a little better than a 1060 and can’t run it at 1080p 60 FPS... the 1080 can do high at 1440p and 60fps.

riibhu2117d ago

One x also have crappy cpu so that's why it can't do 60fps. PCs don't.

A Late Look: Monster Hunter: World

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "While it was a mixed pleasure overall - at times exhilarating, at others agonizing - I would have to say I enjoyed my time with Monster Hunter: World and found it to be surprisingly addicting. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that I was surprised by how little had changed from previous titles, given how this particular entry took the series to unheard levels of popularity, but while it retains both positives and negatives from them, at the very least it’s a stellar-looking game that brings more freedom to the hunt than any of its predecessors (Monster Hunter Rise could possibly be a different story, but that, my friends, is a game for another article)."
