I still prefer the Mega Man X series over the classic Mega Man series

TheGamez1001617d ago

X was the best. Although I did love megaman and bass, and the legends games that were based on the original megaman games.

gangsta_red1617d ago

The X series was good...the original got stale after 4.

10 and 11 were good throw backs though.

FanboysKiller1617d ago (Edited 1617d ago )

I just like the x series more for no reason, maybe it's something related to my childhood.

Teflon021617d ago

X gives more freedom to the player and isn't as strict. So generally it will just be more fun to play. I like em all but X is my fav series for sure

RPGer1616d ago

MegaMan is different from X, like how different is Dark Soul to Other Action RPG. The OG MM is limited and X give you power and really fast and powerful moves.

I immediately hate every article that is named with this format.
They are spineless cowards.

Vote for either Mega Man X or Zero at the bottom of the article! 🎮😄

ZeekQuattro1777d ago

I liked the Zero games better even if Capcom forced changes to be made to it because they insisted the X games would keep going after V. Ended up making the Zero games more of a what if scenario and not canon imo. X going maverick after 100s of years of fighting would of been better than the defective Copy X we got.

Why Do I Like What I Like?

The Punished Backlog's Sam Martinelli writes: "I love The Witcher 3, but don’t like Dragon Age: Inquisition. I can’t get into most JRPGs, but I kind of like Paper Mario: Sticker Star. I’m a huge Legend of Zelda fan, but I’ve never loved the original. The Super Nintendo is my favorite console ever, yet I don’t think I’ll ever finish Super Mario RPG or Super Metroid. ... Why am I like this?"

Interesting read. I used to love platformers but now I hardly play any. I'm not partial to any particular genre, I just like what I call quality games. But that doesn't mean every quality title I enjoy will have a bloated budget. Games like Gone Home, Firewatch, Dear Ester, Edith Finch, Hyperlight Drifter, Remothered, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Adrift, Soma, Amnesia etc all vary in how the look and play but they all have a quality that pleases me and I enjoy them.

I also love games that do have considerable productions like GOW, Witcher 3, HZD, Spider-Man, TLOU, Uncharted, Ratchet and Clank, Detroit, Days Gone, Nier, Persona 5, Shadow of the Colossus, Last Guardian and so on and so forth.

I especially enjoy games with well crafted narratives, that have interesting characters. That's my bread and butter now. At 38 I need s little more than I used to so I'm very happy companies like Sony put so much resources towards games like that. It's why I'm such a fan of theirs.

I too love Wild Hunt. I've sank about 170 hours in it and still haven't completed Blood and Wine but I will. I played Dragon Age Inquisition for maybe 30 in comparison.

I like everything from Hob to God of War and everything between. I just like escaping and having a good time.

I think everyone has that "exception to the rule" when it comes to games, or opinions that feel somewhat hypocritical but are absolutely genuine.

As for my own personal example, I'll start by saying that I LOVE JRPGs. Some of my absolute favourite games of all time fall into this genre. That said, there are 3 very highly regarded JRPGs that I just didn't care for, and spent around 15 hours on each, only to give up on them. And those JRPGs are: Dragon Quest VIII, Rogue Galaxy and Final Fantasy XII. Weird, I know, since I feel like I *should* love those games, but each of them bored me rather quickly.

This guy has pretty much the same taste in games as me. Great read. Now I understand myself better.

Because....everyone has their own likes and dislikes...???

execution171809d ago

That plus people grow out of things or like something they previously didn't like, I used to love turn based RPGs but now not so much, same thing with action RPGs, I didn't really like those but now I love them

We tend to create our tastes during adolescence and youth. This is translated into all aspects of life, such as food, music, movies, books, games, etc.

Spotify even showed in an article that our musical taste develops rapidly from 14 to 25 years, then more slowly until age 35 and stagnates. I imagine this applies to any entertainment.
