Just going through DS 2 now, it's really not a bad game.

LoveSpuds646d ago

I thinks it's a fantastic game personally, even the weakest DS game in the series is better than most other action RPGs in my opinion.

Hope you enjoy your playthrough chief 👍

It was a great game, there is no souls game from fromsoft that was bad. My only complaints were the visuals and bosses were a bit too easy. Other than that it was very fun and probably the only soulsbourne game I played nonstop and beat in just a couple of weeks pre-elden ring (Well, it took me to beat three other soulsborne games which took me years to beat to finally actually get hooked to souls, so I was very hungry for more souls lol).

People didn't like it because of no Miyazaki and the only game I really loved from him was just Bloodborne (Ofc the rest were great games too). Bloodborne is my #1, Ds2 is my #2.

Yeah bosses are not exactly hard that I have come across so far. The graphics are a mixed bag, Scholar of the First Sin on PC with no mods.
Admission time even though I own all Souls games day one editions across the formats, Elden Ring was the only one that really clicked with me to a point I had to finish it. Now going back to ones released on PC to finish those or try to. Bloodborne I wish would come to PC but I might fire up my PS 4 again to play it.

It's wonky here and there, but it's still fun to play and a great world to explore.

People gave DS2 way too much hate.

Im one of the few that loved the game, i think im like like lvl 550 or something like that.

The Best Soulslike Games You Can Play While You Wait for Elden Ring

BLG writes: "The release of Demon’s Souls in 2009, and then Dark Souls in 2011 marked a turning point for video games. A move away from spectacle and towards challenge and depth. The success of both games, Dark Souls, in particular, demonstrated that there was, and still is, a place for high difficulty, deep narrative woven into gameplay, and simple yet intricate combat. The subsequent explosion of “souls like games” has therefore come as no surprise.

But what is a souls like game? I doubt there is a single definition on which we would all agree. That being the case, for this list, I’m going to be using my own interpretation. I will be referring to any game that borrows from Dark Souls in terms of level design, narrative structure, combat style, or currency mechanics. Superficial and thematic elements are less relevant. Having said that, however, many of these games will be decidedly downbeat affairs so be warned."

Playing Forbidden West and Elden Ring this month and next at least .Everything until then will wait .

Tacoboto836d ago

Playing Sekiro and going right into Elder Ring when I'm finished (hoping to do it with under a week left).

I didn't expect to fall into the hype but playing Sekiro got me trapped in it, between watching GI's Super Replay vids, YouTuber walkthroughs and the Elden Ring videos always showing up - the Game Informer editor especially gushing over how great it was previewing Elden Ring for their cover story.

Nioh, code vein, and jedi fallen order are good clones. Elden ring out in a week and stranger of paradise next month. Good time to be a souls style fan.

Chexs1990835d ago (Edited 835d ago )

I really like Code Vein, but that one is a bit of a niche title, even for Souls-like fans I think

Gideon's Gaming Game Of The Year List 2019

Joseph writes- It’s that time of year again where every single person, alien and dog creates an end of the year style list. Contributing to an ever-growing pile of lists that will slowly but surely dilute the increasing pool of game of the year awards, while progressively draining away the significance of the term until it will eventually become a meaningless concept.
