Cyberpunk 2077 Will not run at Native 4K and 60FPS on Current Gen Systems

Invision Game Community Writes - "We sat down and looked at the Xbox One (X) and PS4 (Pro) and wondered what we can expect from those systems based on what we had seen with the Demo."

I'm sure they are keeping native 4K/60FPS for the enhanced edition of the game on next gen consoles... and the PC version :)

XentaJones2150d ago

Its going to require a crazy system build on PC for those and maybe even a hold off on a enhanced version on Xbox One X

kevnb2150d ago

By the time it comes out I think it will only take a mid range system, assuming some new cards come out.

Rippcity2150d ago

@kevnb Yup my thoughts exactly. Nvidia will definitely have out the Volta cards by then and probably the TI upgrades as well. I'd imagine it won't take a super beastly pc to get that performance when the game finally releases.

starchild2150d ago

Rippcity and kevnb are right. The game is in pre-alpha and will certainly be optimized and fine tuned for performance between now and release. In addition to that we're going to have one or more new series of graphics cards released by then. It will only take a mid range build to run Cyberpunk 2077 pretty well.

chobit_A5HL3Y2150d ago

they already listed the requirements and while it's expensive now, by the time they release(in the next 2-3 years) those components should be somewhat standard and affordable.

Skull5212150d ago

It will however, perform best on the Xbox One X.

NarooN2150d ago

7nm GPUs will be available by the time the game releases and will handle it no problem.

Eonjay2150d ago

Digitial Foundry said that the live demo was definitly running at 30 FPS and it was running at 4K on a i7/1080. So in reality if 60 is currently off the table on that build, I would not hold my breath on consoles.

cannon88002150d ago

@Eonjay I think it was a 1080ti.

OpenGL2150d ago

It was a 1080Ti and an 8700K

medman2149d ago

+Eonjay
Unfortunately, the demo was 1080p, not 4k :(

Razzer2150d ago

I doubt you are going to see 60 FPS on One X or PS4 Pro in any resolution higher than 1080p, upscale or not. The CPUs are just too weak.

UCForce2150d ago

I have agree with you. The CPU is way too weak.

kevnb2150d ago (Edited 2150d ago )

Resolution has very minimal impact on cpu, but we probably won’t see a 60 FPS version at any resolution.

starchild2150d ago

That's true. It's unusual for either XB1X or PS4 Pro to run demanding games at 60fps. The majority of good looking games run at 30fps. And large open world games in particular are often more demanding on the CPU.

Matrix62150d ago

Probably worth many more replays on the next Gen consoles then, I'd be happy to oblige.

masterfox2150d ago

and so what ?, don't even have a damn 4k tv, probably will update until PS5 is released maybe by then 4k is finally a standard ;)

bradfh2150d ago

no one cares about you snowflake, 4k is standard now, just because you don't have 4k yet.

masterfox2150d ago (Edited 2150d ago )

4k standard now ? , haha yeah keep dreaming, what's next 8k standard next year ? lol

also just because some PC gamers like to play like crazy in 4k just because of the heck of it, it doesn't mean is a standard.

Ceaser98573612150d ago

4k is not Standard Now.. lol! It will be standard from next gen.

Spenok2149d ago

At 25% adoption rate I'd venture to say it's not the standard. It however is getting there, and should be by next generation.

Out of my friends and Co-workers, I'm one of the few with a 4k TV and 4k player, I only know of one other and he has both two. 4k is far from the norm, I know plenty of people with nice FHD TVs that still watch DVD on them and I doubt most would be willing to fork out extra for 4k. One day it'll be standard but that's still at least a few years away.

masterfox2150d ago

nope, just using common sense ;)

LemyAtom2150d ago

I play on a 1080p set. Yes, I am poor. As a carer who gets very little money. I know 4k will be standard for the next set of consoles, but I'm sure they will still allow people to play on 1080p sets.

Araragifeels 2150d ago (Edited 2150d ago )

I could buy a 4k tv with HDR with Vizio for 350$ right now so pretty much is a standard.

LemyAtom2150d ago

The UK needs to catch up with that. We only see prices like that in sales. Then again I haven't looked in a while so if it's like that here I'll be pleasantly surprised. Not felt the need to upgrade yet anyway.

medman2149d ago (Edited 2149d ago )

Uhhhh....4k only makes sense for televisions at least 50 inches in diagonal or computer monitors where you sit close to the screen, and buying a cheap 4k television doesn't even make sense, as you're not getting image quality, so why bother?

FPS_D3TH2150d ago

If you’re buying new TVs and they aren’t 4k then I’d question how poor you are.

Cyberpunk 2077 Director On 95% Positive Steam Rating: "Never Thought I'd See It"

Cyberpunk 2077 has come a long way from being one of the worst games on the planet to being one of the best ones.

DustMan3d ago

I shelved it after a few hours in game at launch, glad I didn't refund it. One of the few games I've actually completed in the last year, and after finishing the campaigns I wanted to just jump back in from the start. They pulled a No Mans Sky and finished one of the best FPS in the last few years.

Games That Were Bad on Release, But Are Now Great

BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.

Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."

Good list..hoped to see Street Fighter 5 there..and it is.

Vits15d ago (Edited 15d ago )

Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.

darthv7215d ago

Several years ago, i submitted an idea to Rare that would change up the mechanics of battling opponents in the game. whereby if you died in battle, you turned into a skeleton warrior and had to fight your way back to the land of the living. It was an interesting twist on respawning and would allow the player to experience both sides of a battle.

I keep hoping to see something like that get added to the game.

Kaii15d ago

They consider FO 76 & ME Andromeda to be great now 🤭

anast15d ago

Every game in the last 2 decades...

INMATEofARKHAM15d ago

It's sad that this quick retort is more often than not true... The industry's acceptance of release and patch has gone too far.

gunnerforlife14d ago

Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

S2Killinit14d ago

That game was just plain good game. It didnt improve, it was just good.

gunnerforlife14d ago

I don't know, I got it abit late, and struggled for a few days, and then all of a sudden it just got good!!

Well they are using unreal engine now thanks to there work culture and horrific job on making cyberpunk so for the future no impact.

But it will be interesting to see what mods will be made

https://rebel-wolves.com/

just_looken26d ago

7 disagrees shows how many look at one dlc that had a rip off fight from ghost in the shell and goes wow what a goat team i love cdpr while ignoring that they only made 2 games that were good witcher 2/3 in 20yrs.

But its a new world we want a criminal that support's legal murder as president/support shoplifting love toxic work environments and have a mass casualty event every other day.

GhostMirror26d ago

I’ll admit I didn’t play it at launch, but Cyberpunk 2077 is a really good game now.

And who the hell knows what you’re even going on about in your second paragraph here.

EazyC27d ago

Wait a min...I swear to god CP2077's source code got leaked before. CDPR needs to stop using "password123" for all their accounts 😅

just_looken26d ago

Na its hundreds ex employees no doubt just getting there revenge.

Profchaos26d ago (Edited 26d ago )

This is the same leak the threat actors have been trying to sell the source code after cd project didn't pay the ransom.

They didn't manage to sell the source code to any company largely because it would be unethical for say EA to buy it so the threat actors failed to find a buyer.

After they failed to make any money they went through with their threat of simply giving it away.
