LucasArts isn't releasing Force Unleashed on the PC for a very stupid reason.

ReBurn5687d ago

It would have been better had LucasArts said that they weren't releasing it because they're tired of dirty pirates stealing their stuff. I'm surprised anyone releases games for the PC any more.

zagibu5687d ago

@ ReBurn: The game would sell bad on the PC, true, and LucasArts would probably accuse piracy for that, but actually, it is because PC gamers are better informed than console gamers and don't buy that much crap.

JsonHenry5687d ago

Well, the force stuff is pretty cool. But the gameplay is inferior to Outcast and Jedi Academy. I mean, you can't even manually target what you want to use your force powers on!

This would be seen as a step backwards to PC gamers and would not sell well on the PC and LucasArts knows it.

morganfell5687d ago

They should be getting slammed for another crappy overhyped Star Wars game that slags the license so George Lucas can buy a few more pork chop sandwiches. Ridiculous. The Force Unleashed = most overhyped piece of crap this year.

Samer3055687d ago

If it did come out on pc it will get pirated like crazy. Thats just the way it is.

UltimateIdiot9115687d ago

Which is the real reason why they aren't releasing a PC version.

rogimusprime5687d ago

... I blame them for not wanting their stuff pirated, but I don't think that's the reason. What game HASN'T been pirated on PC successfully that has been widely popular. If the nerds want it, they will hack it...simple as that.

Personally they can keep that crap. I have to admit I was a bit let down by TFU. Definitely was no lair, but not as good as it could have been. I guess Lucas was against lightsabers actually being fatal to stormtroopers in one swipe and maiming them.

SaiyanFury5687d ago

Yeah that was a pretty lame excuse. Saying that it's possible on the Wii and not on a decent PC? They just don't want it to get pirated. I saw that the first time I noticed they weren't releasing it on PC yet they release it on every other platform.

kittoo5687d ago

But I have to put this list every time there is a PC gaming related article cause people assume that PC games just dont sell. Look up this list and see how many new titles are there which sold more than 1 million-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

AoE III (exclusive)- 2.5 million
STALKER (exclusive)- 2 million
Crysis (exclusive)- 1.5 million
The Orange box- at least 1.5 million
Warhammer online (exclusive)- 1.5 million
Hellgate London (exclusive)- 1 million
Bioshock- 1 million
Command and conquer 3 (exclusive)- 1 million
Supreme commander (exclusive)- 1 million
Spore (exclusive)- more than one million and still selling fast
The Witcher (exclusive)- 1 million
Age of conan (exclusive)- 1 million

And there are many more games which are still selling cause PC games sell over the time. Also, these figures dont include the disital distribution sales which you can assume at least half of, if not equal to, the retail sales. Adding those will not only increase the sales numbers of these games, it will also add some more games to this list. These are 12 games right there from the last year which sold more than 1 million, and I am sure this list would be of about 15 games if digital sales were included. Also, many games like Warcraft, HL2 and Sims are not added which are continuously selling. How much more proof can one give? These are numbers stating right there that PC gaming is still alive and kicking.

ReBurn5687d ago

Now stack that list up against the number of PC's out there in the world. There are 4 in my house alone. There are probably tens of million to hundreds of million people playing games on PC's worldwide, so the overall attach rate for these games is very low.

this game worth at least a rental, buy it if you love the star wars universe

8 out of 10 imo

need a lot of improvements in both gameplay and overall design, gameplay needs to be way more intense and brutal

theEnemy5687d ago

The game already did great on the 360, PS3, and Wii.

They will only make 40% profit and 60% loss since the game doesn't have an Online mode. It will get pirated like crazy.

After Jedi: Survivor's Triumph, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Deserves A Revival

Following Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's conquest, it's the prime time to resurrect the Force-fueled action of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

Tacoboto321d ago

Coming soon on the UE4 Engine, preorder to guarantee access to the Force Stutter ability available exclusively on PC before it gets removed after the launch window.

Rikimaru-00321d ago

this would be so awesome, i still play this game up till today.

Knightofelemia321d ago

I am not a Star Wars fan but I enjoyed the Force Unleashed and the sequel. Shadows of the Empire was another Star Wars game I also enjoyed.

RpgSama321d ago

I had Shadows of the Empire on N64 and I used to finish that game basically weekly. LOVED that game.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed ruined the Star Wars Franchise

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed took the Star Wars setting from a Space Opera to a Shonen anime, and did lasting damage to the franchise as a whole.

Then came Jedi: Fallen Order to revive it.
Jedi Survivor is truly amazing to experience, nothing better out there when it comes to Star Wars games.

Daeloki356d ago (Edited 356d ago )

That's a bit of a stretch. I loved the game, it was an amazing action filled pack and you could do so much weird shit (admittedly the sequel wasn't as great). However, under no point did I ever have any trouble separating it from Star Wars canon. The game has exagerated force powers because it's fun, everyone knows it's not lore-accurate. It's the same as the final boss of The Matrix game. The game almost ends as the movie, but then we get a message from the Wachowski sisters, explaingin how a the martyr ending works great for a movie... but a game should feel more epic, so instead you get to face a final mega Smith formed from all his clones. My point being, people can separate the epic exagerations of a game from the more grounded rules of canon/lore.

Edit: Just to add, that I aknowledge The Rise of Skywalker was a shitshow, but there were millions of other reasons for that, TFU is hardly to blame there...

Kneetos356d ago

I'm a casual force unleashed, enjoyer
Thought both games were pretty good

Starkiller - the original Mary Sue (after Luke Skywalker bent a molten blaster bolt around a corner, and through a tiny hole in The Death Star, while flying an X-wing in space. And all despite having next to no training in how to use The Force.)

It did help ruin the franchise, but it was already ruined by silly novels and badly-thought-out comic book adaptations. The EU did enough damage to the universe that the trajectory was bound to hit “JEDI SUPERHERO WHO CAN WRESTLE STAR DESTROYERS OUT OF THE SKY” territory.

It’s part of why The Force Unleashed and The Last Jedi had such a negative backlash. The Force Unleashed copied and pasted the structure of A New Hope, which was enough for some people to buy, but I heard countless musings from people, whining that the characters were not as jumpy or powerful as Starkiller - with Starkiller being the one character mentioned for reference. The Last Jedi, for some people, is their favourite Star Wars film, for others, it wasn’t. What I didn’t like about TLJ’s backlash is how much people were moaning about it being different to the rest of the franchise, when it is about as derivative as The Force Awakens was.

"after Luke Skywalker bent a molten blaster bolt around a corner, and through a tiny hole in The Death Star, while flying an X-wing in space. And all despite having next to no training in how to use The Force."

Not to mention having next to no experience in piloting a fighter
