James writes - "Way back in 2008, Race Driver: GRID (or simply GRID to most of us) made a mark on the racing scene, delivering some of the most memorable moments on the track I’ve ever had. Naturally, I figured it’s time to take a look back at 10 years of GRID and the sequels that succeeded it."
The 2008 game is a change of direction and a new name for the previously TOCA and then Race Driver series, which then becomes Grid. From touring cars to a full-blown story mode with cutscenes for a racing game, the series has gone places.
Sad news to those wanting to pick up Codemasters Studio's Race Driver GRID and Dirt 3 after missing out on the recent Humble Bundle giveaway, the studio has delisted both games and F1 2013 from the Steam Storefront from as early as 31st December 2016.
The dangers of an all digital future. I will never get people who are rallying for that.
I want to be able to play those games when I die, But that will only be possible in disc format. I doubt i'll have wifi.
PC racing fans, here is something for you today. The Humble Bundle is currently offering Race Driver: GRID for free. This special offer will be gone in around 47 hours, so make sure to get your free copy while you still can.
For me it's better than Grid 2 or 3.
The first one is less arcade in handling, feels and handles better
I own all 3 GRIDs, but only the 1st one is such an amazing arcade racer, the handling was so amazing and really hard to fully master. So sad that the multiplayer servers for it are down, man we had a blast racing online..
grid 2 was trash...Grid 1 though.. probably one of the greatest and most atmospheric games of all time.
I wanted to play it but they removed it from Steam in 2013. Pretty lame!
loved the soundtrack, replays, tracks. the gfx, motion blur looked very cinematic. handling wise all cars seems to slide but still fun game.
Yep still have on my PS3 great game.
The gameplay and handling made GRID 1 the best sim-cade ever. Too bad that they messed it up with Grid 2&Autosport :/
