Looking back at 10 years of… Race Driver: GRID

James writes - "Way back in 2008, Race Driver: GRID (or simply GRID to most of us) made a mark on the racing scene, delivering some of the most memorable moments on the track I’ve ever had. Naturally, I figured it’s time to take a look back at 10 years of GRID and the sequels that succeeded it."

grid 2 was trash...Grid 1 though.. probably one of the greatest and most atmospheric games of all time.

EazyC2158d ago

Yep. That game had the magic. Felt totally unlike anything else too.

Marcello2157d ago

Well i wouldnt say Grid 2 was trash but it wasnt anywhere near as good as 1 for its time. Grid 1 online was great fun especially the demo derby. Grid 3 is now overdue, instead were getting Onrush which looks totally boring. :(

I wanted to play it but they removed it from Steam in 2013. Pretty lame!

loved the soundtrack, replays, tracks. the gfx, motion blur looked very cinematic. handling wise all cars seems to slide but still fun game.

Einhander19712158d ago

Yep still have on my PS3 great game.

The gameplay and handling made GRID 1 the best sim-cade ever. Too bad that they messed it up with Grid 2&Autosport :/

The dangers of an all digital future. I will never get people who are rallying for that.

Vegamyster2672d ago

If you own the game you can still download and install it, you just can't buy it due to expired licensing.

lnfiniteLoop2672d ago (Edited 2672d ago )

only while it is still on the servers to download from... eventually it will be deleted from those as well...

Vegamyster2672d ago (Edited 2671d ago )

If it's through Steam then that's not something i'd wouldn't worry about, they're not going to be shutting down their servers anytime soon.

great game for those that haven't played it yet.

hiredhelp2684d ago

Oldie but a goodie agreed with C-H-E-F

MrMoe2684d ago

For me it's better than Grid 2 or 3.
The first one is less arcade in handling, feels and handles better

AcidDvl2683d ago

Sure, I agree. But they're all great games tbh.

Vedo2684d ago

I own all 3 GRIDs, but only the 1st one is such an amazing arcade racer, the handling was so amazing and really hard to fully master. So sad that the multiplayer servers for it are down, man we had a blast racing online..
