From Everything to Nothing: Cyberpunk RPG Announcement

It’s been an established mythos that great art can come from great pain. Van Gogh painted his greatest works while in emotional torment, Kahlo’s physical and emotional pain are subjects of her most recognized works, Lennon and McCartney forged their creative partnership following the death of their respective mothers. Matthew R. Walsh, of Logic Nine, poured his heart, soul and pain into Nothing: a third-person, open world cyberpunk RPG set in a dystopian Los Angeles.

the textures look horrible.

Palitera2186d ago (Edited 2186d ago )

Well, it's the generic assets UE generic project of the day.
Literally EVERY week I see a project exactly like this. Obviously none ever became a game.

But this one is different. The main Sell point is "my mommy died". Hope the dev is happy with using his mother's possible death to scam stupid people.

This article got hot because people thought it was referring to Cyberpunk 2077. This game is not a 2019 release, if it even becomes a game. It hasn't even hit Kickstarter yet and they hardly even have place holder assets. I admire the man's passion and empathize with his story, but this seems like an attempt to bite off the hype of CDPR. Nothing they mentioned even sounded original. Hacking, augments, neon. On it's best day it sounds like Deus Ex with Technomancer quality, in a Blade Runner setting. Either be original, or nail the quality.

CD Projekt Red have really dropped their standards.

getbacktogaming2186d ago

This is not CD Projekt Red. I look forward to seeing Cyberpunk 2077 but this is not that.

TekoIie2186d ago

Better to read more than just the title... :/

Mr_GoolyPunch2185d ago

It was an attempt at humour

Razmiran2185d ago (Edited 2185d ago )

A failed attempt

PapaBop2186d ago

Lol, no, this is an opportunistic developer taking advantage of the fact that everyone's ears/eyes are currently waiting to hear anything Cyberpunk related. Smart actually but this has nothing to do with CDPR.

nowitzki20042186d ago

You should raise yours and read a bit more.

Mr_GoolyPunch2185d ago

Thanks yeahright2 - the ony one who saw that this was an attempt at a joke. The internet really is home to the adult babies.

I imagined it something... Well, we need to wait E3! That looks medicore.

Mr_GoolyPunch2186d ago

Nah it's a different indie company making it - I'm not 100% sure but I don't know if you can copyright the name "Cyberpunk"

DJStotty2186d ago

Cyberpunk is a style of game, not the name of the game, the game is called Nothing.

sander97022186d ago

LMAO I thought it was Cyberpunk 2077 as well and I was like "what the f*** happened to CDPR"!

Currently replaying the Witcher 3, next gen upgrade style. Touissant still drops my jaw.

Cacabunga134d ago

I have it in my backlog.. i will play it one day!!

I also can see people agree RDR2 is the best of all time. Still playing it today I’m still mesmerized by it.

Rutaprkl135d ago

What makes GTA V better than Witcher 3? Just wondering.

Crows90134d ago

Nothing...they may be open world's but they're entirely different games

isarai134d ago

I could see it if you value the immersive sim elements, really depends on your personal priority for criteria.

smolinsk135d ago

Would put Elden ring at number 2.

anast134d ago

I would remove Skyrim, it needs a ton of modding to make an interesting open world.

Tapani134d ago

There has been four open world games I enjoyed: Elden Ring, Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn and Breath of the Wild. Red Dead, GTA, Witcher, Skyrim and Oblivion etc. were all extremely tedious fetch fests or set piece style games.

Elden Ring was awesome for just being Dark Souls open world game, Days Gone had such a great set up, tense atmosphere and the Hordes were incredible, and Horizon ZD was absolutely great at storytelling in its locations and is absolutely stunning to look at. Breath of the Wild had such a soothing atmosphere that it was pure therapy to play after a tough day spent in the business world.

RDR2 looks great, plays poorly, character is very hard to control and is very gimmicky. GTA is made for 12-year olds, but tries to somehow cater to older audiences as well, didn't enjoy it at all. In both of those games you play as a mass murderer, which always sets me off. Witcher 3 had okayish side stories and locations, but I enjoyed 1 and 2 more due to their focus, the series didn't need an open-world. Skyrim was a total fetch quest and writing was just so bad I could not go on, same for Oblivion.

Cacabunga134d ago

RDR2 pays poorly? Just give it time and every other game will seem to you like a joke in comparison.
I bought RDR2 almost at release, i found the character stiff cause i was used to Horizon and gave up for a long period.. then decided to jump back into it last year and i cannot play anything else.. disgusted me of other games, that’s the danger with this game
