Microsoft Has Not Yet Decided How Long Its Conference Will Last At E3 2018

Responding to an intrigued fan, Aaron Greenberg, the head of the marketing division at Xbox, said that Microsoft has not yet made its final decision regarding the duration of the conference.

If it were 2 hours, they'd have to show quite a few gameplay trailers, talk for 15-20 minutes about new features, new backwards compatibility games, Minecraft, and how many zombies and skeletons have been killed to draw out the time.

Probably deciding between showing some stuff that is out in the next year or an everything and anything type of show, with concept trailers for first party stuff alongside gameplay for releases coming sooner. I think they need the latter but with the price tag of the xbox one x I think they need to show their commitment with some first party releasing 2018 to 2020.

I welcome showing games years in advance so i can see what they have in their pipeline.

And especially Microsoft should care to show what the future holds, given in what bad state their lineup currently is. It wouldn't be enough to show 2 games which are out in the next 6 months, they need to show gamers that they are working hard to fix the draught of high quality (Console)Exclusives.

It's not really the length of time, it's what you have to show and how you show it.

They need surprise games, that wow the audience with real gameplay and concrete details on when those things will come out.

Even 30 minutes could great if you cut out the chatter from boring people like Phil Spencer, show off the real products and keep the momentum going until the curtains close at the end of your show, but do that leaving people wanting more.

Well I hope it's good either way, last year wasn't really epic.

I'd love to see way more backwards compatible titles shown WITH Xbox one X upgrades. Games like Conkers Bad Fur Day Live and Reloaded is 4:3 equivilant of 4k and 60 fps, "I think at least", and Fallout 3 is 4k alongside a few others.

Maybe 4k 60 fps mass effect trilogy?

I've never seen a current generation of console fanbase ask for more previous generation games than they ask for NEW games, you know, for the CURRENT console.

Is the complete lack of anything new combined with the mediocre to poor quality of XBox games taking away confidence from fans that they could even make a good game at this point?

It seriously blows my mind how I see all these people talking about what they want from E3 this year, and XBox fans are talking about how badly they want old games. Yet these are the same people that hated on PlayStation for making a couple remasters and remakes.

I feel like I'm living in upside-down, bizarro world at this point. Either that or Phil Spencer has spun you guys so much that it created some kind of time warp that left you guys in the XBox 360 days.

MS will have a big third party showing I believe, with exclusive content and marketing deals. Even though they said they were done with these sort of deals. Not much in the way of exlusives IMO. For instance I think these games will be shown on MS's stage:

Tomb Raider, Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed, Anthem, Cyberpunk, Battlefield 5, Metro, The Division 2. Not sure if Halo or Gears will make an appearance. We know Forza will be there as usual. MS needs new exclusuve IPs
