Couldn't care less about 4k but a solid 60 is a must. Annoyed about the lack of HDR. HDR has been much more impressive than 4K in my opinion.

pyroxxx2201d ago (Edited 2201d ago )

They made Remaster 10 times too bright as is,.. wonder if HDR will make it look even worse. Regardless the visuals,.. I just want it to look decent and wish the pricepoint was more reasonable. But for a game I've spent about 1500 hours across PS3 and PC,... they kinda deserve the money I think.

Joshua .I'm in love..... his name is forny, I just lanced a enormous boil and I'm ready to go after that man. I'm making $84 this five weeks past and just over $210 this past 4 months ...... it's by-far the easiest work Ive had and I've found the man of my dreams .

4k > HDR. You people probably never seen true 4k.

fathertime44642201d ago

Agreed, hdr is the bigger upgrade than 4k imo. The clearness of 4k is nice, but hdr can take a muddy looking game like ghost recon on xbox one and make it vibrant and alive like on the s and x

ONESHOTV22201d ago

I agree with your statement I care about 100+FPS at 165HZ smooth as butter I feel sorry for those stuck with 60FPS at 60HZ

roland822201d ago

None of the dark souls games run higher than 60 fps on the pc though

ONESHOTV22201d ago

roland82----- i don't play with vsync and if it was locked it's nothing a little messing with the ini files cant fix

nitus102201d ago

I think you have some concepts wrong.

If you are talking about refresh rates which are in "Hertz" (ie. Hz) you normally are talking about your display which could be a monitor or TV.

When you talk about frames per second (ie. fps) you should be talking about the output of your console or PC.

Basically, the maximum refresh rate of your display dictates the approximate frame rate that the display can handle. As an example, if your display has a refresh rate of say 120Hz then the maximum number of fps it can handle is a little less than 120 fps. Likewise, if you have a TV with a refresh rate of 60Hz (most standard TV's) then the maximum fps it can handle will be a little less then 60fps.

BTW. The above is a rule of thumb which is why I used "a little less" not "exactly". https://www.avadirect.com/b...

ColonelHugh2201d ago (Edited 2201d ago )

@ONESHOTV2
I don't believe you know what you're talking about. You'll be needing to change the config in DSfix to change framerate, not the ini files. Even then, anything above 60 runs the serious risk of the ladder glitch. Should really be playing at 60 or even 59 locked just to be cautious. Rolls become shorter, bonfire glitch, etc.

Not to mention that when playing multiplayer you get speed-hack effect relative to other players using lower framerate

Seraphim2201d ago

true that. resolution is great and all but HDR is the bees knees.

In this case it's disappointing. However I've put a couple hundred hours into DS so I'm just looking forward to another run w/ updated performance. If this was a new game I'd be a bit in arms but since it's a remaster of an HD game and they're only asking $40. I can overlook it.

kevnb2201d ago (Edited 2201d ago )

HDR is only good if you have a higher end 4k tv, many tvs that support HDR dont really do it any justice. resolution depends on screen size and view distance, you want more resolution as you get closer and have a bigger screen. For most people 1440p is actually a good sweet spot, but the consoles need to upscale that since most tvs dont accept anything in-between 1080p and 2160p.

7 year old game and can't run at 4k? Ouch

OffRoadKing2201d ago

And upscaled 4K on X. Frame rates more important anyway and it sounds like Pro has that handled.

thrust2201d ago

Up scaled 4k 😂😂😂

DarXyde2201d ago

I'm pretty sure it's not because Pro can't. Should come as no surprise since From Software, as amazing as their games are, is pretty lousy at optimizing games.

bluefox7552201d ago

True, there have been much better looking games that do run at 4k on the Pro, so it's not like it can't be done.

kevnb2201d ago (Edited 2201d ago )

7 year old game that barely ran at 1024x720 on last gen hardware with frame drops into the teens not being uncommon? I would say 3200X1800 60 fps is a huge upgrade!

Kaze882200d ago

The original DS barely runs 1080p 60fps on 1080ti + threadripper. You know nothing Jon Snow :D

"Blighttown Issues Being Looked Into"
The game releases in just over 3 weeks, so I hope you're not just looking into it NOW.

Dark_Knightmare22201d ago

The titles clickbait actually read the article and you’ll see the producer was talking about blighttowns reputation in general not anything to do with it in this remaster specifically. The article states that the game runs at an almost flawless 60 fps so no worries.

Dark_Knightmare22200d ago

Have got to love downvotes for literally stating facts. Man fanboys never cease to amaze me

Kabaneri2201d ago

Meh gonna wait for the Switch Version.

narsaku2201d ago

You n' me both m8. Would 10x rather play this game on the go than stuck at my TV just for a 10 year old game.

DarXyde2201d ago

Cool.

Personally, I could never see myself playing a Souls game on the go.

That, and I would much rather a higher frame rate.

kevnb2201d ago

be careful not to play in portable mode, dark souls rage might be bad for the switch.

Sirk7x2200d ago

I was going to get the Switch version, but I'm afraid I can't wait for that now :/

Ashunderfire862201d ago

Damn only 3200/1800? They know the PS4 and XBO X can do better with those graphics! Hell I am getting it on PC anyway. Still wish the console versions at least had 4K 60fps with no problem for an old game! Disappointed that the Switch version got delayed was looking for a PC/Switch buy on this game. O well just hope they don't cancel it though.
