Yeah the film just shit all over the past films and even JJ Abrams work on the Force Awakens which he spent setting things up with small plot points. Instead Rian "Mr Big Shot" Johnson came long and was like "f*** this, I'm doing my thing" and made it seem like this film was standalone ruining every plot point JJ set up. This is coming from a guy who didn't like the Force Awakens that much and yet this film made it come off better along with making me appreciate the Prequels more.

Superman Leia, ruining Lukes character, Finn being boring, Rose being this SW Jar Jar Binks, that entire Finn/Rose side story, awful development of characters, silly plot points, awful pacing, some plot holes, more questions then answers, Snoke being wasted, Phasma being useless again...I could go on.

The EA boss is sorry because enough customers and gamers complained about loot boxes and sales of the game were perhaps harmed by the situation.

There was plenty of outcry about loot boxes prior to the release of the game and Patrick Sodurland could have dealt with the situation then and made sure that the game was released without loot boxes. The fact is that when the first Battlefront reboot came out under 3 years ago, it lacked a campaign and much of what made the series beloved in the past. However, many gamers still bought the game in droves and this probably emboldened EA into thinking that they can do anything with such a popular franchise and gamers will be stupid enough to buy a full price game with loot boxes and unnecessary grinding.

If gamers want full price games not to have rubbish like loot boxes or other such money-making content (for the devs and/or publishers), do not buy them when stuff like this is included - no matter what the franchise is!

I have avoided most of the games this generation that have this kind of bullshit included - Battlefront, Battlefront II, Shadow of Mordor II, etc., and I still have more games than I have time to play. The tide will turn for good soon enough if most of us do the same.

So remind me someone if the loot boxes were intended to meet financial cost of the game? Like they have to many employees to pay for a game costing only $59.99, they have to throw in micrtransactions to exceed breaking even on the game. Because FIFA 17 selling nearly 11 million copies on PS4 isn't enough? This is what happens when corporations run their business to exceed expectations and fail. For example if I was a games company and in 2016 I made 3 million in revinue instead of budget in for 2017 how we can increase that to 4 million I would be like no let's project have of 2016's earnings and shoot for 1.5 million that way when we achieve 5 millon we can view that as exceeding our expectations and reward our employees as such. Then in 2018 your project half again at 2.5 million you still won't be upset at 3 million because even though it's not as good last year you still exceeded you expectations and peformed under budget. Maybe my business concept does make sense to most but I can't help but see where these corporations fail is by assuming they increase revenue year after year after year.
