PS4 Pro version still wins with better image quality and more stable performance.

Korn would be ashamed of you. The Xbox One X version is yet again the definitive version.

Kornholic2245d ago (Edited 2245d ago )

That's not what DF said, though. Why would they be ashamed of me? I didn't buy an Xbox One X.

StormSnooper2245d ago (Edited 2245d ago )

I would say the definitive version is on PSVR and by far. and this is from someone who has the game.

What is this best feature?

Bhai2244d ago

@PFFT Hahaha :D
"PlayStation's excellent VR support remains a highlight - and it's functionality that obviously Microsoft can't provide." ... Eurogamer.

The ultimate graphical possibility remains on PS4 ... the paperweight hasn't done that again... Pro's got the definitive edition here... FACT! ;)

Digital Foundry outright states the X has better image quality and shadow quality, with identical performance bar a blip in the garage.

Profchaos2244d ago (Edited 2244d ago )

But it lacks in VR which is this games selling point

Kornholic2244d ago

Despite the 4k resolution, Xbox One X version is a blurry mess.

TheCommentator2245d ago

The narrator actually says the 1X version is near perfect 60FPS with better shadows, filtering, and resolution. The only place he found with any frame drops for the 1X was the one demoed in the video comparison, and it went down to 57 for 2-3 seconds.

Kornholic2245d ago

DF actually states that PS4 Pro indeed has more stable frame rate.

TheCommentator2245d ago

Yeah, I know. I addressed that in my post with the comment about framerate. Observation isn't your strong suit, is it?

yomfweeee2244d ago

No, you didn't say anywhere in your post that the Pro has a more stable frame rate.

TheCommentator2244d ago

@ yomfweeee

Kornholic says the Pro has a better framerate. I don't agree because it's so minimal of a difference it's not worth bragging about. There's only one scene, for 2-3 seconds, where the 1x dips by only 3 frames from an otherwise flawless 60FPS (the one part of the game Pro performs better on), so I did mention it in my OP. What are you going to do next though, count blades of grass? Grow up.

Kornholic2244d ago

So you don't agree with facts? Crazy times. PS4 Pro has more stable performance. That's a fact.

bluefox7552245d ago

Nah, it wins because it has VR.

bolimekurac2245d ago

no it doesnt, its a solid 60fps on the x1x and has higher resolution and better shadows, the ps4 is slightly crisper but with tons of artifacts

maybelovehate2245d ago

Yeah right.. Those jaggies will cut your eyes out.

MattE2244d ago

Nah, you have no clue what you are talking about.. the PS4 Pro is full of pretty bad shimmer all over the image my friend, jaggies and low quality shadow detail.. watch the video again and think about what they are saying and what you would rather see on your screen

MadLad2244d ago

You misspelled "PC version".

bolimekurac2245d ago

nice, 4k 60fps better shadows, less artifacts.

Direwolf4842245d ago

It was a long time coming but they did a really good job.

xbox1x : higher resolution , better shadows , better AA.
ps4 pro : sharper image quality , VR support.

bolimekurac2245d ago

ps4 is sharper with artifacts, not sharper as in better

tmisellati2245d ago

digitalfoundry comments on checkerboard artifacts in RE7 : " The fact is that the stippling artefacts you'd associate with this technique are very well hidden behind the game's waves of post effects "
Beside , if you have a ps4 pro , you will know that these artifacts are difficult to be seen unless you are setting very near to you 4k tv.

tmisellati2245d ago

i m not here to prove that the ps4 pro is as capable as the xbox1x !!
sure , the xbox1x is a more powerfull console. no question about that.
i only want to say that when the checkboard rendering technique used properly , it can produce great results.

slasaru012245d ago

How Can it Be sharper if the resolution is lower?

Babadook72244d ago

Because of a different form of antialiasing that prioritizes sharpness to smoothness. It’s a matter of taste as to which is better.

BLAKHOODe2245d ago

No denying the XboneX version. I'd still buy the game on PS4 first for PSVR support.

King Nezz2245d ago (Edited 2245d ago )

See, this is a real comment. You note the X version, but would prefer the PS4 version because you want the VR experience. Other people would say, "I'll go with the PS4 version because... ummm, Sony #1."

Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky have to be up there. We're lucky and cursed, equally, to have games that can be updated now. For folks old enough to remember the Sega/SNES into PS1 and even 2 eras, if a game came out that was half baked (*cough*Angel of Darkness*cough*) that was it, no redemption. At the same time, having the option for updates shouldn't be an excuse for half assing games.

thorstein120d ago

I remember when the Nintendo Seal of Approval meant something.

All those games had to release without bugs.

shinoff2183120d ago

Comebacks shouldnt be a thing in videogames. Just saying.
