Its free. Its fun. Its mostly balanced. No pay to win microtransactions. Its optimized and runs well on all plataforms. Some people might dislike cartoony graphics, but that depends on personal taste more than anything. And on top of it all, it gets updated constantly.

The only thing I wish they’d change is to either take out the rocket launcher or severely limit how much ammo it holds.

The end of the game almost always ends with someone noob tubing you with what seems like unlimited rockets.

There’s definitely some funny moments but the majority of the time someone gets a Battle Royale noob tubbing someone. I’d like a gunfight at the end more than a rocket fest.

I remember one time it was just me and one other guy left and I sneaked up to his tower and camped underneath it waiting on him. Next thing I know I got Battle Royale. To find out the guy fell off his tower and killed himself. Lol

Game needs an HDR update, totally do able on UE4 too, since it has a pretty good pipeline for HDR implementation

The game is free so they are basically reviewing if it is worth your precious time. Along with that, anyone can play this with very little limitation so there is the friend aspect. A 9.6 is totally unexpected, but I can see it.

I believe its the best out there but it's hardly a top tier game when you consider how basic it really is. Basic maps, basic gameplay and basic gun programming.

Fun factor is high, but game play is just ok, as it's too easy to get into top 20 by just sneaking and running around which then takes the fun out of the game because its a hiding/running simulator with not much else to do.

If they add a few more maps like full blown town maps instead of the occasional tree here and there it may be more visually interesting. And dont get me started on the guns.... those alone should bring the game to an 8/10.

There is so much wrong with your post I don't even know where to begin.

It is a top tier game free to play or not, it's fun as hell and that's something a lot of fully priced AAA games are lacking these days.

The gun play is hardly basic. Each weapon is different in term of bullet spread, recoil, blast radius, bullet drop etc. The game has amazing gunplay considering the art style, you'd never expect that on first impressions.

You are playing it wrong if you're just hide and hope to last until the end with no kills. Engage, stalk, rush people. It adds a lot to the game. Don't shoot on sight just cause you see someone.

You say the current map is people hiding etc then go on to say make a map with a whole city which would only encourage hiding and camping...

Alot of games, more so AAA games should take a long look at the way epic has gone about this game. They are making silly money off battle passes and cosmetics because the game is so polished and fun.

I'd give it 7.5, it's free, fun and basic with a ton of support.

It's popular thanks to people enjoying it otherwise it could of potentially flopped.

Not that I have cared about IGN reviews in the last 7+ years. Regardless, this is a great game with amazing support from its developers. And, once again, it's free. Meaning there is no risk whatsoever in trying it out.

The BRs very fun and never expected it to be so good when I first played it on release lol. Thought it was nothing special and overrated til about a month ago when me and my friends got hooked and obsessed with it.
Pubg should have done the same being free to play and releasing on both consoles, there are so many console players who have never experienced br until fortnite which is probably part of its crazy boom in popularity.
Its free, so give it a shot. Your first few games will probably suck but once you get all the mechanics, you can pull off amazing tricks and kills which makes it so addicting, especially getting kills you really worked hard for by outplaying your opponents.

I don't think it was an intended mechanic, more people realising that building a wall while you got shot was a good form of defence.

In any case it'd a good game to pick up and have a few games after work.

They both don't deserve those scores but there is no way sea of thieves is better than the free 2 month in production Fortnite. And I think fortnight is barebones OK and lacking all over the place including the guns... Sea of thieves is trash until a tonneau of updates make its way into the game

My only problems are the bloom mechanic and shoulder switching.
