Xenoblade 2 is much better. Better story, characters, and an expansive world.

Xenoblades combat really turned me off to the game. I couldn’t get into it

Well that's definitely your opinion but I thought xenoblade chronicles 2 was a horrible game. Voice acting was terrible, characters remind of people from cheesy JRPG's, main character is a dumb ass, and the battle system was an mmo battle engine. I can kinda see why people liked it, but just don't see it as a great game.

Chaosdreams2254d ago

As much as I love the Xenosaga trilogy (which was meant to be a sega). And as much as I personally loved Episode 1, and 3. I wouldn't label Episode 3 being the best of all time (it's certainly up there), primarily because there's just too many fantastic contenders.

That said, I will say that considering how long ago Episode 3 was made, the fact it's still up there with the best of the best speaks volumes behind the magic that was put into that game. I'm grateful the series exists, because it's truly special.

*Crosses fingers* Still hoping to see Episode 1,2 and 3 pop up in the PS2 section on the PS4, lol, one can dream. Right Chaos?

The reveal about the origin of the gnosis in the story's universe was one ofnthe biggest plot twists I've ever experienced in gaming. The fact it made sense and completely had a huge impact on the main character made it all the better.

spambot08152254d ago

is anybody working on a sequel or a remake of the series because xeno-topics seem to appear quite a lot lately?

rainslacker2254d ago

Remaster might be about all we get, if Namco decides to grace us with it's presence. I can't see Namco funding the last three games because of the originals sales. Nintendo seems more wrapped up in xenoblade to let monolith do it, and I wouldn't care for another director to try and tackle the story

Harkins17212254d ago

Kingdom Hearts I found better

Kingdom hearts story is convoluted, compared the subtlety and complexity that xenosaga exhibits. Game play wise, I think they're both great though.

I would be all over this HD trilogy like a fat guy on a doughnut.

metalhead566d ago

I’d be on it like a cop chasing a Black man driving a large powdered doughnut.

FinalFantasyFanatic566d ago

Yes please, I know they said it was unlikely to happen, but I never got to play these games, so a collection would be greatly welcomed.

gold_drake565d ago (Edited 565d ago )

absolutely

CrimsonWing69566d ago

Man, I wish, and give us the unedited versions

a7madRyan566d ago

gold_drake565d ago

How Square's Most Iconic JRPG Evolved Into Nintendo's Xenoblade Chronicles

From a pitch for Final Fantasy VII to Nintendo's role-playing juggernaut, here's how the Xeno series became Xenoblade Chronicles.

not even close to the original Xenogears, this was a masterpiece in the story, characters, and adventures just like many PS1 JRPGs... something which is missing in almost all new JRPGs.

Zeldafan64820d ago (Edited 820d ago )

Keep being salty that Xenoblade's a Nintendo exclusive.

Vx_820d ago

the only salty is the like of you, and mostly your just a kid who missed the golden are of the JRPGs in the 90s...which is ok :) it just wasn't your time...btw I have the switch and both Xenoblade games...not bad but nothing compared to Xenogears.

RPGer820d ago

Zelda boy. This has nothing to do with exclusives and this generation BS. This is about a game being a masterpiece and no one cares if it is Sony, Nintendo or Sega. It is all about the quality of the content and fun factor. Back then I own the game because I love it, not because it is tated 10/10 in reviews current BS streamers recommendation. Xenogears was and still a masterpiece beginning with the cover, the disc, the manual, the art, the settings, the soundtrack and characater design. No one literally care about it state of availability to other console. A thing that current gen of gamers can't stop being obsessed about.

Zeldafan64820d ago

I've been playing rpgs since the early 90s. You certainly seem to be projecting.

Nintentional820d ago (Edited 820d ago )

Try out Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition. It’s one of the few modern JRPG’s that make you feel like you’re playing an S tier, top shelf, classic PS1 JRPG again. The characters are so memorable and likeable, the environments and world are so original and imaginative, and the music is god tier. The composers are Yasunori Mitsuda and Yoko Shinomura. Xenoblade 2 was ok, but 1 was better and more cohesive. 3 is looking solid though, more in line with XC1.

Zeldafan64820d ago

I'd say the soundtrack of 2 every bit rivals that of 1. My main problem with 2 comes with the design of most of the female blades.

ecchiless820d ago

indeed, xenogears is a great game, xenosaga and xenoblade cant compare to xenogear, dont mind the nintendo fanboys.
Best killer of "Gods".

For me squaresoft games were better on the ps/ps2 era, my personal fav from them on PS(1):
Vagrant Story(still waiting for a remake/continuation), Xenogears, Chrono cross, Parasite Eve, FF8...

Xenosaga Trilogy HD Collection Shot Down by Namco’s Harada

Bandai Namco’s Katshurio Harada shoots down the possibility of an Xenosaga Trilogy HD collection.

1605d ago
Shiken1605d ago

Guess they don't like money. 🤷‍♂️

addictedtochaos1605d ago

It failed at the profitability analysis. They think it wouldn’t make money.

I would buy it on every system it came out on.

Tross1605d ago

They clearly didn’t survey gamers when they did that analysis.

loxim1605d ago

Wow, what a fucking dumb move on their part. Amazing trilogy on ps2.

stuna11605d ago

Exactly! I still have the trilogy for my ps2, i just don't have a ps2 lol.

SegaSaturn6691605d ago

If you mod your ps3/ps4, you can play the series on there.

loxim1602d ago

Same here, I initially traded them in as a dumb kid in my youth all those years ago. I later bought all three copies again and have them in my collection of must haves for PS2 including the Onimusha games and Kingdom Hearts.

Razmiran1605d ago

Harada is not the one who shot it down, he just answered the question of it being a possibility

ninja2ri1605d ago

No kidding. Ask those Shenmue goofs hows the 3rd game is selling? Hell, ask them about the collection. The Xenosaga series is overrated. People complain that MGS is all video but, no gameplay. But this game takes the cake in that approach. You only play the game for 2 hours. The rest is all cutscene

Loktai1605d ago (Edited 1605d ago )

The down votes probably didn't complete all 3 games. I did and there are some sloowwww parts. The games are fantastic but i think you're right ... only the subset of fanatics like those on n4g would pick it up. People claimed they wanted a new star ocean game and probably forget we even got one on ps4... which is much easier to play than a game like xenosaga but sold pretty mediocre . Just as an example of market forces.
