it's subjective when saying which one is better. Yea Fortnite runs better but some enjoy PUBG more than Fortnite and vice versa.

well

- fortnite is free and PUBG is $20, that right there is a huge deciding factor because you can just try fortnite while you need to pay first for PUBG
- fortnite is from the game engine's own creator so less bug and runs more smoothly
- also levels, daily goals, challenge.. basically you have more incentive to play fortnite rather than just collect bp to buy crates
- emotes!!

tbh I like PUBG wayy better, it's more realistic and intense, but damn if I can't see overall fortnite is winning in general game design

But "mainstream audience" is just a category, it's true but it's not the only category. You can just as easily say PUBG won the hardcore audience, or that it won in sales. Remember it's a $30 game that's sold over 26 million on PC and over 5 million on xbox, and still stays toe to toe with Fortnite on Twitch.

I've only had the chance to try these games and haven't invested much time in either, so I'm not really biased. I'm just saying you can spin facts around any way you like.

Do you have the financial information for PUBG Corp and Epic? Do you know what each game brings in? What we do know is that Fortnite appears to be more popular than PUBG.

It was smart to release Fortnite on so many platforms, it would be foolish to omit the massive install base that PlayStation offers. Perhaps PUBG Corp made a mistake?

Forenite is a really good modern arcade game, it’s just not for me. PUBG is way more tense and exciting, it has vehicles which add another dimension.

Both games are great in their own ways

Can't compare, but I'd rather play ghost recon ghost war (4v4 PvP if you missed out in the wildlands update), rainbow six, or destiny crucible. Why do we keep comparing pubg and fortnite?

Most people on my friends list have Fortnite , But more of my friends are online playing PUBG. I guess most got Fortnite cause it's free. I prefer PUBG myself..

It was announced as an exclusive two months after the game launched. and 3 months before fortnite Battle Royale was even a thing. I guess it's time to come up with a new Theory.

Why would I change my comment? Did they hear about it before it was announced as exclusive? I certainly didn't see many articles about it on here, and if I did, they didn't have many comments in them because this site doesn't have much of a PC user base....or at least they aren't that active in the comment sections.

Fortnite as a whole didn't get that much attention on any console until they announced the BR mode, then it became a console war thing IMO. The comparisons were inevitable.

It's worth noting that I speak of fan boys, not just fans, as many may have heard of it, but they certainly didn't seem to care about it enough to talk about it.

Fortnite runs and looks better and is an interesting BR concept. Pubg will run out of steam soon although it's more like Arma

Just because a game has a cartoon style doesn't mean it looks worse than a game that goes for realism. R&C is among the best looking games ever made and it doesn't go for realism. PUBG has never been a looker.

Yes, Fortnite runs MUCH better than PUBG. The reason is not because it doesn't strive for realism, it's because it runs on UE4 and obviously Epic is the creator of the prolific engine so it's no wonder it runs well.

And it helps that the game looks like a PS3 game.. Im not knocking it for looking the way it does but if you want to knock one for optimization than look at the big picture. PUBG has never been a looker but it looks much better than Fortnite and no sane person can say otherwise.

I have tried my best to like fortnight but have to say I just dont like it. The actual game is 30 pound the battle royal mode is free but if u want to be serious about the game you need to buy a battle pass just to have the same character all the time or change what there wearing etc. So it’s designed so you spend money anyway it’s just clever marketing.People keep goin on about how fortnight is beating PUBG aswell it should be destroying PUBG becauseit’s also available on PS4 which we all know how many people own a PS4 but if you look at the numbers PUBG hit 5million last week on Xbox alone and there pretty much neck and neck on pc. So when epic games release there numbers there counting PS4 aswell which isn’t really fare if PUBG was on PS4 it would be a totally diff story. I just think it feels so childish to me and the gunplay requires very little skill atall PUBG is much more tense feeling and very very tactical and that’s the reason I’m hooked when you outsmart someone it’s the best feeling ever and it actually feels like you’ve earned that kill. Fortnight was always about defending from zombies then they heard PUBG was coming and threw in a battle royal mode shame on you epic at least they added there rediculis building mechanic to keep it different. Pubg isn’t for everyone though, the reason being it’s not an easy game not if u want to be good at it that is. A long time PUBG player could pick up fortnight and rack up kills quite quickly but a fortnight player who picks up PUBG would take much longer to learn everything. I wouldn’t say one was better than the other though that would be unfair because if u look at both they are actually very different games despite both having battle royal mode. I just prefer PUBG but that’s just me.

I prefer Fortnite my self. I do like PUBG I just feel Fortnite is more of a complete game. Sure the gun play is a bit easier than PUBG. What makes me laugh though is when someone puts down Fortnite they usually follow it by "PUBG you need to use tactics".

You also have to use tactics on Fortnite. You can't just pick up a gun and run around like Rambo you will be killed fairly quickly. Then you have to have a quick response time if someone gets the drop on you in Fortnite if you are quick enough you can save you self by building a wall to absorb some damage. This will give you seconds to turn around see where the shots are coming from and the time to make more walls or to fire back.

If this happens in PUBG if your not near any cover you are pretty much dead. But again as I said I do like PUBG. I just prefer other BR games to it. Like Fortnite and Ark SOTF. Hell I tried H1Z1 for the first time in 2 or so years and even that is still pretty good to play and that is also free.

I see we’re your coming from mate. I never said fortnight required no skill it’s just a different kind of skill from what PUBG is. It’s a well known fact that PUBG is tactic based esp at the high end I’m at tactical positioning is key because you can’t just build or jump around and dodge bullets and you don’t absorb lots of damage like in fortnight. The map is much larger so you need to think we’re your coming in from and we’re players are coming in from and you need to work out the best place to come in . You really need to be smart and out think players in PUBG and I love that. You can’t possibly compare fortnight tactically to PUBG Anyone who knows PUBG will tell you it’s tactic based fortnight does t have the tactics that am talking about a fast smart builder and shooter will most likely beat you in fortnight any cover can be distorted the map is much smaller you can build to big heights rendering any tactical gameplay unless. I’m not dissing you buddy I’m just stating the facts. Fortnight at the highs end is extremely skill based the rate the guys build and shoot people at is crazy I just don’t like fortnight I tried my best and couldn’t enjoy it the same as PUBG that’s all am saying I should have worded it better the skill requirement of it is just totally different from PUBG that’s all

Miramar almost killed PUBG for me. Probably the worst map in Online Gaming history. I played this game for at least 5h every day 3 months straight. Now its 5h/Week if even that.

If you are on PC. You can delete the map and only play Erangel if you wish.

yea we tried it all :D it also shows that not everyone likes the map, sometimes you even start with sub 80 people on the map because everyone is leaving. Map selection would take 5 min to program but blueb*lls doenst care about the community.

@VideoGameLab I always wonder why the servers are always down to like the last 50 people before the first circle even starts to move haha. It is a poor map to be fair. Great for a survival game but awful for a battle royal game.

I prefer PUBG. It's more intense and victory in PUBG feels far more satisfying. Fortnite feels like Minecraft Battle Royale to me.
