You're one of the biggest EA haters here on n4g so why aren't you preaching boicot? Or is it just certain EA games that you don't like or want to play?

I'm sure there will be some kind of MT in Battlefield.

You guy's and all your MT bitching need to step it up and practice what you preach or the Evil Empire of EA will never fall.

InTheZoneAC2269d ago

Buying used since it's EA, but if it's not bad company or modern combat I'll just skip it for the first time

TheVetOfGaming2269d ago (Edited 2269d ago )

I just wasted money buying UFC3 new. I wanted to support the game as I want the game to grow into something better. Selling it now on eBay. The micro transactions are so bad, plus it's so buggy and broken at times. I'll never buy EA new again. Although that's the only game I've bought new from them in years.

_-EDMIX-_2269d ago

I don't really think that has as much to do with EA the publisher as much as the developer of those games is really really bad.

So that wouldn't really have much to do with the actual development teams that create Battlefield or Titanfall or anything like that.

Even as a huge mixed martial arts fan I completely avoid those games like the plague.

2269d ago
AnubisG2269d ago

Will be interesting to see how heavly implemented microtransactions will be in this one.

Derceto2269d ago

Take the worst situation you can think of, and that should be pretty accurate.

There is nothing interesting about it, as this company has been rather transparent, blatant, and public in their "microtransaction" approach to their business model going forward.

Don't hold your breath for something decent. You wouldn't survive it.

AnubisG2269d ago

That is what I'm afraid of.

Newmanator2269d ago

I disagree, micro transactions in Battlefield 1 weren't bad at all and were almost entirely cosmetic.

EazyC2269d ago

I haven't played in months, but I do remember them being completely unobtrusive in BF 1, it was just barely-noticeable gun skins from battlepacks. And melee weapons, but again... They seemed a bit silly.

AnubisG2269d ago

Right, but than Battlefront 2 and NFS Payback happened.

Newmanator2269d ago

Yes thank you glad someone else knows what they are talking about.

senorfartcushion2269d ago

No thanks. Not after Battlefront 1.

REDGUM2269d ago

Exactly. It was a great game, and still is. I only stopped playing as my reaction skills arn't as good as you lot and was getting slaughteted inline lol. Really liked the campaign too.

_-EDMIX-_2269d ago

Exactly

I'm still playing Battlefield 1 today , they did an absolutely amazing job on that game.

Newmanator2269d ago

BF1 MTs were fine! The camos weren't even bright pink or stupid either.

BF is always a day one buy for me.

TheSplooge2203d ago

Most definitely! Its pretty much the only worthwhile shooter these days.

mcstorm2203d ago

I f#####g hope so wanted bfbc3 for so long now. BF1 was great but could do with a bad company now.

ssmilloy362203d ago

not after the 3 month long launch issues where I couldn't ever play. f that. I'm one of the pushers to end duty and go bf but after bf3 4 fiascos. never day one

NewMonday2203d ago

they must bring back the Bad Company quirks and not just make it Battlefield 5 with a different name.

Oh oh and loot boxes! Don't forget the loot boxes! *Burst out of a lootbox in an explosion of confetti!*

joab7772203d ago

I’ve been waiting forever for BC3.

And it’s CRAZY that I’m a year that CoD abandons single player, DICE chooses to go back to its best sp material. The first two were amazing semi-open world, vehicle laden journeys, filled with the funniest mf’s imaginable.

I can’t wait. Finally, a great single player.

Araragifeels 2203d ago

Battlefield Bad Company is the reason that I started to play Battlefield games overall. I used to play BC2 more than any other COD. And I played for 3 years straight. After Battlefield 3, I lost my love for Battlefield. Hopefully BC3 is true because I will truly pre order the game.

3-4-52203d ago

Regardless of what it is, I'm buying it day one. I loved BF1.

r3f1cul2203d ago

forget that ... i love BF im max level in every single one (not lying, sadly lol ) but i will never buy a game day one, or even month one nowadays... ESPECIALLY a BF game ... BF normally takes 3-4 months before its actually playable above aggravation and pure brokenness ... but after that first 3 months Bf does become the best shooter on the market that year IMO ... but buying day one just seems silly to me, you are paying the most a game will ever be for teh worst it will ever be O.o food for thought

Antnee5342203d ago

Yeah i call bs, and even if it was they would screw it up imo.

DogJosha2203d ago

Well it wouldn't have shrubbery to hide in plus sniper scopes will have those 10,000 lumen "scopes" giving away your position so it will definitely be ruined for me. I miss BC2...

DogJosha2203d ago

So a gun that requires precision and accuracy is not earning a kill while spray and pray is earning it? Sounds to me like someone is jealous.

Really and truly though they should give snipers away after making a shot, not before. That and have whatever effect disappear with distance that way you have a reason to keep moving.

GUTZnPAPERCUTZ2203d ago

I really hope so, if its WW2, no buy!

GUTZnPAPERCUTZ2203d ago

Well, If its modern I will be happy! Kind of burned out after BF1 and COD WW2, plus looking forward to how DICE does Battle Royale since they are PUBG's biggest threat imo

UltraNova2203d ago

If Dice is left to their own devices to work on a BR mode without getting "influenced" by EA's suits it will be the best BR game out there by far. But we all know it wont go that smoothly for them. We'll just have to see in a few months.

As for BF games...yeah its my FPS fix, day one(provided MTs/loot boxes are cosmetic).

GUTZnPAPERCUTZ2203d ago

Look at the downvotes lol Im guessing people don't like BR?

CorndogBurglar2203d ago

I don't think its necessarily that people dislike BR. But keep that shut out of Battlefield.

Leave Battlefield alone.

GUTZnPAPERCUTZ2203d ago

What? Dude I have over 300 hours each in BC2, BF3 and BF4! I was Lvl 50 in BC2, 100 Col in BF3 and 140col in BF4. Battlefield is my favorite shooter of all time, but after getting hooked on PUBG, BR is a new exciting game mode and Battlefield could easily do better than Blue Hole first try. Whats wrong with adding a new game mode?

Rippcity2202d ago

I'm with yah @GUTZ. What's wrong with Battlefield doing BR? Honestly out of all the big popular shooters, I think Battlefield is the only one that BR mode actually would fit in well. No harm if they have additional game modes. You can always choose not to play it if you would rather play PUBG or Fortnite. Never bad having more options imo.

New Battlefield Has 'Astonishing Visuals And Gameplay', says EA CEO

EA talks briefly about the new Battlefield game, which has now been confirmed for release later this year.

TheColbertinator2296d ago

Wishing highly for Korea or Vietnam era conflicts.

Araragifeels 2295d ago

I vote for Vietnam era because I did love Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam DLC

JaguarEvolved2295d ago

Awesome. I can't wait to play this on ultra settings on my pc. I've been waiting for a proper and more modern warfare battlefield game to play on my pc. I like battlefield 1 but it's mostly a sniperfest game majority of the time and I don't like a lot of the weapon selections. The game is good imo but it doesn't pull me in to play like bf4

PapaBop2295d ago

WHAT??? BC2 had Vietnam DLC? Oh shit. My PC died about 2 months into that game and despite absolutely loving it, I couldn't bring myself to play it on console so stopped following it. I can't believe I missed that, BFV was my first real competitive shooter so I have so many fond memories of Vietnam era Battlefield.

UltraNova2295d ago

Of that I have no doubt, EA. What I want to know is if you learned from past mistakes, namely doing away with the season passes so all players have access to all maps to avoiding user base fragmentation and long arse matchmaking loading screens.

Oh and the other thing...please dont ruin this IP with predatory MT and loot box tactics!

indyman77772295d ago

EA promised to not repeat the mistakes they made with battle front. They made TWO mistakes!

1 Micro transactions
2 Announcing the micro transactions, by giving reviewers FULL copies of the game.

EA have several times said Micro transactions are coming back. So guess which one
that leaves.

ClanPsi12295d ago

I wish they would just remaster BC2. They clearly don't know how to make good games anymore.

CorndogBurglar2295d ago

I want Vietnam also. There are so few games during that period.

If not then 2143 would be awesome. 2142 had a special place in my heart. Titan Assault was so fun.

FlameBaitGod2295d ago (Edited 2295d ago )

The title is wrong, the actual title is "New Battlefield Has 'Astonishing Visuals, Gameplay and Microtransactions', says Satan.

3-4-52295d ago

I'm ok with any era honestly. They made an amazing game with BF1. I see the next one expanding on that in terms of visuals and correcting any of BF1's mistakes.

UltraNova2295d ago

Maybe they will maybe they wont, I can't trust anyone under EA even DICE at this point. All I want is a season pass-free game with no progression bound MTs/loot boxes.

How hard is for a BF game like that^ to sell a crapton??

pinkcrocodile752295d ago

What about WW2 Pacific against the Japanese? Vietnam was a failure as we all know, so don't see the point.

Will it also have astonishing amounts of microtransactions?

UCForce2296d ago (Edited 2296d ago )

It will be. It’s EA we talking here. I don’t care if these are cosmetic, it’s just excuse from major gaming publishers.

Newmanator2295d ago

Don't be so sure, Battlefield 1 'loot boxes' were negligible and a non-issue.

2295d ago
JackBNimble2295d ago

You need to get over it already... You cry so much about EA it honestly amazes me. Everyone has the choice to not buy if they don't like EA's practices, so why don't you just give it a rest already!

iNcRiMiNaTi2295d ago

Very High and Ultra presets on PC will be microtransactions. The game will be locked to 720p 30fps and the option to increase the resolution and framerate will be loot crates

Jinger2295d ago

You get 1fps per loot crate

Nineball21122295d ago (Edited 2295d ago )

Honestly, for whatever reason, I've never once felt like spending real money on the loot boxes in BF1. They are all just weapon/vehicle skins and exp boosts that last for 30 minutes to an hour.

They seem pretty innocuous in BF1. I'm NOT saying they are good, just that the ones in BF1 aren't as bad as they are in other games.

itsmebryan2295d ago

That's the thing people overlook in their rage. You don't have to buy it. You have a choice. I have never bought loot or used micro transactions. I use grinding to get better and that is why I stump the inexperienced people that paid to level up. 😎

Sam Fisher2295d ago

And how about the hard working ppl that have kids and just want to sit down relax and jump in to game? Everyone pays for games right? Price = money, money= pay, pay = work (whatever job it is), that being said i shouldnt pay a full 60$ for half the game locked behind yet another paywall source. Sometimes grinding takes far too long and ppl dont have time for it

combatcash2295d ago

@SAMFISHER, with the majority of games you have the option to jump into games, without having to spend an extra dime. I think GEARS OF WAR 4 got things right, they release new map packs, and then implement them into multiplayer for FREE. I’m hoping other studios will adopt the same practice.

MatrixxGT2295d ago

@ sam fisher

I think in that instance you should pick and choose what games to buy to fit your time. I love mmorpgs but i dont play them anymore because my life just doesnt fit them.
Im not good at battlefield or CoD but i still have fun playing with friends. I pick up and play just fine and i never buy MTs. I accept im not going to be a pro gamer or top streamer or whatever.

I play for fun and relaxation. If i read that a game pushes you to buy MT as in BF2 i just dont buy it. Im not going to boycott a game just because it has MT in it.

glenn19792295d ago

Good lord just no no no more freaking microtransaction and lootboxes they need to go from gaming

Relientk772295d ago

Can't wait to see how EA screws up Battlefield

fiveby92295d ago

Newsflash: "This just in. Company CEO says their product is amazing. More at 11....."

Does anyone expect them to say otherwise? Let's just see if the loot boxes are any good. /s

TheCommentator2295d ago

They do tend to release mediocre games lately, don't they. I have to say though... if games like Battlefront 2 and Anthem are anything to go by then we can at least expect some astonishing visuals for Battlefield. I really hope that Anthem is good.
