Turok 1 and Turok 2 Dated for Xbox One - Pre-orders Now Live

It's been officially announced that both Turok 1 and Turok 2 are coming to Xbox One. Pre-orders are now live, with the games launching March 2nd.

I remember my first E3 and seeing the first Turok running on the N64. It was the most visually impressive thing I had ever seen at the time. The tree's looked "REAL!!" haha. Can't wait to play this again.

I remember playing GT on the ps4 and thinking wow nothing comes close to this.

Then seeing the damage model and weather on tocca touring cars and again going who.

Even seeing msr and it's day night and weather when it was connected online matching what it was in that city.

Yeah, it was the first game with geometry-based foliage. Everything else was sprite-based before that.

Honestly though, Turok 2 had some of the sickest graphics on the N64, and it supported real-time shadows on up to 8 light sources at once. It was unprecedented as well. I didn't like how scarce resources became when you'd have to go back into previous levels though.

I have these for my N64, but I may have to buy them again to play with a normal controller. Anyone who still plays on N64 can tell you how hard it is to play shooters on it because the controls are flipped and the analog stick is just weird.

Went ahead and shared the link to the forums at nightdivestudios dot com. Seems that's one way the developer is measuring whether or not to port to other systems besides XBOX. Turok 2 was ahead of its time and would be a welcome addition to PlayStation and especially Switch.

I want all of you guys on my friends list. I cant even count the amount of times I said “that looks real” in games from the 2600 til now. LoL.

Turok was one of those games that started the trek to open world games as we know them now. Being able to walk around that limited, but open space and worry about the dinosaurs.

Just pure gaming gold. Cant wait to see what they do with these remakes!

I believe the devs have stated at one point that they were evaluating a PS4 version. Plus, it makes sense, with such a large player base.

It's not full-on exclusive. Even MS state that it's a console launch exclusive. Pointing to the likely fact that it will at some point arrive on other platforms. I tend to overlook the voting system here either way. You can post some pretty nasty stuff and get more upvotes than anything, and post some genuine info or perspective and get downvoted like to hell. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Finally... I have all 3 main line entries on N64, both remasters on PC, and now I will have both remasters on Xbox One. Wonder why it took nearly 2 years since being announced for them to come to Xbox

Seeds of Evil is one of the best looking and playing games on the Nintendo 64. Plenty of levels and secrets. An arsenal to rival even the most diverse weapons line-up in even today's AAA first-person shooters. Right up there with Timesplitters 2 on my remaster/reboot wishlist.

Too bad the developer is going to miss a boatload of buyers by not dropping on Switch or PlayStation 4.

In any case, this is a good way of doing a litmus test to see if there's enough interest to reboot the Turok series.

The devs recently tweeted to say that there is no news for a Switch version but went on to say that "it would be cool", which is better than a full on "No". As for PS4, I recall them once saying that they were evaluating the platform.

Either way, it would be nice to see these released across the board. They're classics.

I'm glad I picked up an Xbone to go with my PS4 last year. I'll get the xbox version. Both games should run without problems on both systems. I have the remaster of the first one on my laptop but no mater what I try I can't get v-sink working. The console versions should solve this.

Meh... turok was great back in the day (+15 years ago) but id much rather have a new turok experience. Remakes and remasters are fine but when its a game from over 15 years ago, its lost its appeal.

It would be like remaking mario 64 or yoshis story... sure those were great games, they arent what the mass of gamers are asking for. I think it also depends on how the games are done. Hell id even venture most gamers that arent like myself that have been gaming forever, can even relate to this game or even know what the hell it is. I can see this mainly appealing to older gamers and thats it. Its a huge liklihood that younger gemers-millenials, vastly outnumber older gamers like myself.

How far are they going to go with the enhancements? What got me the most in turok was the weapons.. I forget if it was a Canaan or a special bow tip that when you shot it and it exploded the screen would go white, not the whole screen just where you shot it..
