I'm still waiting for a proper Final Fantasy game that looks exactly like Yoshitaka Amano's art. Dissidia proved how ridiculously amazing that would look like but it was still not close enough. They need to go for broke on Amano's art style and design.
I don't care if it's a remake of 5 or 6 or a new entry, just make it happen at some point in this life time SquareEnix...

The voice can be turned off (volume set to 0). That eliminates a lot of what he's complaining about, but unfortunately, not all. I think this plays best as a straight remaster. Ignore the transition to 3D, because it's still very much the same game, flaws and all, with a few exceptions. The original soundtrack can replace the dodgy new one too, though I recommend giving the remixed tunes a listen sometime. They're easy to switch back and forth.
I beg to differ I am loving this remake 100% until the game started crashing at random times and right now I can not beat the underground dungeon under the mana palace it keeps crashing before I am done or able to save. so until they fix that BS crashing (who did the beta testing for this?) I wont be continuing...Playing this again I forgot just how awesome and amazing this games music really is... by far one of if not the best SNES soundtracks ever even still today it sounds so amazing for gaming music even vs most games that come out today. @Sarahnade I bet you never even played the original 25 years ago so your opinion and article is poo
the scores are all over the place for this....
Judging from most reviews, if you never played the original or don't own the SNES original, then this might be for you. Just don't expect a mind blowing experience because Square has done little renovation.
