PS4 Exclusive Yakuza 6 Gets New Trailer Showing its Gazillion of Minigames

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life for PS4 shows once more how it's the ultimate Japanese ojisan simulator with a ton of minigames showcased in the latest trailer.

Pre-ordered it months ago, looking forward to it. Also really hope SEGA finally localizes Ishin as it's another fantastic game that never left Japan, shame that fans of the series outside of Japan can't play it without importing a Japanese copy.

I've played 0 and kizami 1. I doubt all games will be re-mastered, so maybe i should move onto 6 ?

A few thoughts there. We know that Kiwami 2 has been made and will almost assuredly be localized sometime between late this year and early next year. Given that Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 were all developed on the PS3 (as compared to the first two games which were PS2 titles), I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that sometime after Yakuza 2 is released, they'll announce a Yakuza HD collection which will contain all three of the mainline PS3 entries ported to PS4 with some visual enhancements rather than doing full remakes of them - at least for now. I believe that the intent there is to get players to be able to play the entire series from start to finish on one console.

With that said, I wouldn't be surprised if later on they also decided to remake those three games Kiwami-style for next gen. After all, they did release a Yakuza 1+2 HD collection on the PS3 (never localized), only to create the Kiwami full remakes of those two on the PS4 a few years later. But with that in mind, I'd wager that even if the hypothetical Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 HD collection were announced right now, the absolute earliest we would get it is late next year, considering that they still need to plan out release time-frames for Yakuza Kiwami 2 and the Fist of the North Star game's for localized releases.

So I would say that if you're really inclined to play these other games, Kiwami 2 will likely be localized soon-ish (guessing within a year since it already released in Japan a month ago), but you might be waiting for around two years (possibly late 2019 to early 2020) if a Yakuza 3+4+5 collection is announced relatively soon, planned for a Japanese release within a year, and Sega is willing to localize it outside of Asia. My estimate is factoring in that Sega would need about an additional year to get the collection localized, which would be a little easier and more cost effective since these three have already been translated on the PS3 and would be very similar to the original releases in that regard. Thanks for the reply. I think i'll just go straight onto the next Yakuza that releases in the west. I suspect zero might be the best so far, and 6 could be very good. I could always go back to fill in the pieces if sega releases hd content after Kiwami 2 as you suspect they might. At the end of the day, i could always start again from scratch if they ever release a HD 3-5. Thanks.

There are actually less mini games in this game. It's still fun but most of the mini games people are accustomed to won't be there. Gang battle is cool though.

Only on N4G will people disagree with facts. I've Beat this game in Japanese and can tell you for certain there are not as many mini games as the other titles. Go on gamefaqs and look at all the other people who have... They will tell you the same thing
