Not only Fortnite is an alternative but equally fun and much more accessible than PUGB is. + The destruction and building mechanics makes Fortnite that much more interesting and unpredictable.

UCForce2327d ago (Edited 2327d ago )

I have to say the game is polish and finished. This game is free to play and microtranaction is acceptable. Like I said, microtransactions is only work with free to play model. PUGB and Frotnite are both using Unreal Engine 4 with different art style, but which performance does better ? I would say Frotnite. I will say this again, people made excuses that Frotnite got so many user bases because multiplatform which is not. It’s because thank to Bluehole lawsuit and Epic got free advertisement.

WilliamSheridan2327d ago

Fortnite might run a little smoother, but the cartoon aesthetic is also less demanding.

I think one game will ultimately rise up and own this genre. For now it's PUBG until a AAA does it better.

UltraNova2327d ago

I agree with the aesthetic side of things as I prefer PUGB's more realistic approach too. But it seems we cant have both optimization and realistic graphics. Thats why I cant wait for a dev like DICE to jump in the BR bandwagon. Thing is it seems we cant have a nice AAA online game and MT-free progression these days as well. So yeah it looks like both PUGB and Fortnite are as good as it will get when it comes to user 'fairness' since one is half price and un-optimised and the other free but less realistic.

The shooting mechanics is what separates PUBG from Fortnite for me. Fortnite is no where near the same level with shooting mechanics. The building mechanics are cool but gets annoying when you never have to run to cover when you can just put it up so it actually takes away from the game instead of adding. Especially late game when everyone is just camping(Forting) around.

In PUBG when you get shot you better start zig zagging and run to cover or turn and shoot quick. Its much more realistic.

Krysis2327d ago

Epic is reworking the shooting mechanics for Fortnite, I'm sure when it's done it will be top notch. I will wait til then.

I'll wait until they finish rework the shooting mechanics which should be in the next couple months, it doesn't feel good. But it's epic and they know how to make a pvp shooter so I'm sure when they're done this will be top notch.

UltraNova2326d ago

Yes shooting in Fortnite is a bit all over the place, at least on console. The controller response is very bad and tanky.

PATR1CKSOMMER2327d ago (Edited 2327d ago )

Yeaaaa... you 100% suck at PUBG, only reason you would think that.
And no, I am not a fan of PUBG, I think it's a shit game with way too many flaws, but Fortnite is a childs version of it and so much easier, more random, less skill required and just.. meh

antz11042326d ago

The sad thing is I really feel as if the original PvE has suffered. Sure the devs are supporting it now but it's hard to find 4 players for a co-op match.

I think Fortnite is good. However it just doesn't appeal to me in the same way. I love the PVE portion of the game, but i much prefer the realistic art style and handling of PUBG for a game like this. I can't get into a cartoon version of it. It's a good "Nintendo" version of the genre, but for me I prefer the gritty PUBG. If the building were as destructible as doors are, then that would be amazing. Leveling a building with someone on it would be cool.

But anyway I'm glad people like Fortnite, because competition is good.

OB1Biker2327d ago (Edited 2327d ago )

I feel I might be more interested in PUBG for similar reasons (and building) and I'll definitely give it a try when it's on ps4 and when it will have matured.
I don't think you can say one or the other is better at the genre though. It s more a matter of preference.

WilliamSheridan2327d ago

That is why I used words like "I prefer" and "appeals to me". I never started one is better than the other. But i will say this...

PUBG is way better at adding suspense. I run across a field in that game and I get actual anxiety and fear. Fortnite had a cartoon atmosphere that doesn't lend to suspense and doesn't have a comparable feeling. Good game, just different.

SirBradders2327d ago

I prefer Fortnite, if you can look past the art style then the building mechanics and items take it to a whole new level.

Every game ends drastically different then PUBG.

In addition the content added in less time is more than PUBG and with the addition of the city map will only take it to a whole new level.

Tobse2327d ago

PUBG broke every User record possible on steam and isnt slowing down any time soon. Fortnite is focused on Kids and a more accessible game. Most gamers dont like the artstyle and the gameplay

UCForce2327d ago (Edited 2327d ago )

Kids ? Oh really ? There are a lot of adults playing Frotnite, not just kids. People do like Frotnite gameplay.

Tobse2327d ago

Oh my, the game is focused towards a younger audience. Not only the simple gameplay and graphics show that. Try out the base game and you will see. Heck, even opening the loot boxes aka pinatas is aimed towards a younger audience. This is game Design 101

And of course, super lucky is also aimed at a younger audience. That doesnt mean adults cant enjoy it

Krysis2327d ago

You can't criticize Fortnite here, for a large portion of the console community it's the only half decent pvp shooter available to them and they don't know any better.

Tobse2327d ago

Ye true. I play fortnite myself and have around 2000h in PUBG and H1Z1 battle royale. Fortnite's entire game is based around the pinatas. They want you to put money into the game which is fine with me but what I dont like is how they promote it towards a younger audience

Gazondaily2327d ago

Both great games. I prefer PUBG but can't go wrong with either

Kribwalker2327d ago (Edited 2327d ago )

Pubg is more intense and i find it is way more fun . Fortnite has more of a PVZ Gardenwarfare feel to it and it feels way less intense. I like the feel of pubg more
