I am disappointed that I won’t get to play another Bayonetta game on a PlayStation console.

On the flipside at least there’s Darksiders 3 to look forward to.

PigPen2336d ago

I wouldn't want to be you. Lol

I'm all set to go. Just give me a preorder date on the Special Edition!

bouzebbal2336d ago

Bayonetta PS3 was the worst version.. 360 looked and performed better.

Neonridr2336d ago

meh, those are the breaks I guess. Nintendo saved the franchise as nobody else wanted to invest the money. We should be thanking Nintendo that these games are even continuing to be made.

gamer78042336d ago

Well never know that for sure as offers were never made public only what the dev said which is first person marketing speak

Neonridr2336d ago

@gamer7804 - MS or Sony had every opportunity to approach Platinum and offer to help fund a sequel. They didn't, Nintendo did. That's all we have to go by unless someone tells us differently.

gamer78042335d ago

Microsoft or Sony should have. They made a big mistake but other publishers could have put smaller bids in.

badz1492335d ago

why are we blaming Sony and MS for not helping the IP which didn't sell all that much on the PS3 and 360? it's not even their own IP and both of them were not short of any hardcore 3rd party games last gen. Nintendo were desperate and approached Platinum but even with their aid, Bayo 2 was not a big seller on the Wii U because their fanbase don't care for other games but Nintendo's own! now they are trying to resell it again with close to no improvement on the better selling Switch in the hope to make back the money they've spent on it.

I'm not saying they are bad games but in terms of IP value, it is pretty weak. it's good that Nintendo decided to still support it but I don't think they would care anymore if the next game tank as well

Prince_TFK2336d ago

Well who is stopping you from getting a Switch and play it?

Heavenly King2336d ago

We will have Devil May Cry 5 and God of War.

FullmetalRoyale2336d ago

I was disappointed when Bayo 2 was announced as a Wii U exclusive, more in the fact that nobody else picked it up. Now that I have Nintendo’s latest, I’m looking forward to playing through the first again, then two and three.

Looks about as expected, considering the Sqitch is only slightly more powerful than the ps3/360..

EddieNX 2336d ago

In docked mode it's quite a lot more powerful. And the biggest advantage is its modern architecture and API meaning it's closer to XB1 than it is XB360.

vergilxx32336d ago

yeah and the custom tegra chip ..oh wait ..

DrJones2335d ago

No, it's much closer to 360 than XOne, still more powerful though

babadivad2335d ago

It's MUCH closer to the 360 than it is to the X1. Even when docked, the X1 is more than 3 times as powerful as the Switch.

Neonridr2336d ago

The Wii U was slightly more powerful than the PS3/360 (GPU wise). Switch is considerably more powerful. Don't kid yourself.

WickedLester2336d ago (Edited 2336d ago )

It's about 40% more powerful than the Wii U. That's not a tremendous amount. It's essentially a portable Wii U with more RAM.

Neonridr2335d ago

It's somewhere in the ballpark of 50% of an Xbox One. The architecture is much more modern than the old Power PC setup that has been around forever.

DrJones2335d ago

No, it's less than 1/4 of an Xbox One

babadivad2335d ago

It's barely more powerful than the WiiU[when docked]. Undocked, it falls behind the Wii U.

The WiiU is 352GFLOPs
Switch is: Docked: 393GFLOPS / Undocked: 196GFLOPS

Switch does have more memory available for games. And the bandwitch is almost doubled For Wii U 13GBps compared to 25 GBps for the Switch.

So yeah, the Switch is more powerful than the Wii U, but not massively so. It is a mobile though so that's a huge plus.

G3ng4r2335d ago

Docked switch sits at one terraflop. Base xbox 1 has 1.31 terraflops and 360 has .24 terraflops.
Because research is hard.

babadivad2335d ago

@G3ng4r

The Switch is no where near 1TF when docked. It's 393GFLOPS when docked.

"Because research is hard."

Apparently it's too hard for you because you didn't do any.

G3ng4r2334d ago

Nah, I did my research, you're just bad at it.

https://www.gamespot.com/ga...

It was almost the top of the google search, keep up the good work lol.

"The Switch is Nintendo's only console to date that offers a teraFLOP of performance. This makes it 2.8x as graphically powerful as the Wii U before it."

babadivad2334d ago

@G3ng4r

If you actually did any real research you would know by now that the Switch is using the Tegra X1 chip. A down clocked version at that. There have been many die shots confirming this.

http://techinsights.com/abo...

The Tegra X1 chip the switch uses is capable of 512GFLOPs when running at it's max frequency of 1GHz.

But since Nintendo has downclocked the version in the Switch, it maxes out at 768 MHz when docked. That translates to 393GFLOPs compute performance. MAX.
When it's portable, it's 196GFLOPs.

The Switch doesn't come close to 1TF.

Like I mentioned earlier, the WiiU is 352GFLOPs.

Sure the Switch is more powerful and uses a more modern architecture than the Wii U. But it isn't WORLDS stronger. And certainly not 2.8 times more powerful.

The Switches main advantage[and selling point] is it's portability, not it's power.

Lastly, that article you posted was rife with factual errors. But if you'd done any real research, you'd have known that.

Double Post.

Segata2336d ago

Undocked it's more powerful than Wii U which was more powerful than 360. Docked it's about 2.3 times power powerful than Wii U.

UKRsoldja2335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

Haha, sure... That's why Rocket League drops to 480p in portable and xenoblade to 368p in portable, yet ps3 played the earlier version of rocket league at 720p and wiiu played xenoblade at 720p and zelda at 720p vs barely 900p on the switch....

Xbox 360 could do better in every game. Let me know when the Switch has anything that looks as good as Halo 4 or Killzone 3...

Segata2335d ago

UKRsoldja

Keep trolling moron.

UKRsoldja2335d ago

Keep trolling? SHOW ME a game on the switch that looks as good as Halo 4. Can't be done, despite its supposed power.

Neonridr2335d ago

@UKRsoldja - show me an Xbox One game as good as BoTW or Mario Odyssey. Can't be done, despite its length of time on the market.

babadivad2335d ago

It's only more powerful than the Wii U when docked.

Why are they always choosing to compare to the inferior versions all of a sudden. I would rather see it stacked up to the Xbox version which was the only good version last Gen or the Wii u version which I'm not even sure how good it runs. Not the ps3 one that was horrible. Same thing I see alot of with yooka laylee people comparing with Xbox one and prerelease issues etc. I know this will be the best version outside pc if a pc version exists but I'd rather see what the upgrade is to the next best not the worse

Movefasta19932336d ago

It’s on steam and I agree with you, it was a bad on port on ps3

madforaday2336d ago

There were a lot of bad ports on the PS3. The Orange Box was one that really grinded my gears.

Teflon022335d ago

how bad was orange box? I remember playing TF2 on it but never tried the others

Fist4achin2336d ago

I agree. It's kind of lame to compare a current generation anything to something from the last. If the last generation game looks better, than the developers in charge of the release should be ashamed of themselves...

2336d ago
Concertoine2336d ago

This isnt even an accurate comparison, lets wait til the game comes out.

TheFallenKeys2336d ago

Sony should make a portable PS3 , id rather buy that instead of a switch . Switch is a joke can't compete against the
Cell processor .

EddieNX 2336d ago

Funny when the Switch is way more modern and capable than a ps3.

UKRsoldja2335d ago

Ok. Let's see Last of Us, Killzone 3 or GT 6 run on Switch in portable OR even docked...

badz1492335d ago

yeah...it would be an embarrassment if the Switch can't outperform a machine from 11 years ago!

Jaypi032336d ago

You mean the cell processor that was hard for devs to work with so they ended up making inferior ports, and only Sony's exclusive devs really took advantage of it? Not to mention for whatever reason not allowing backwards compatibility for PS3 game on the PS4 because of that processor being so different from the PS4's.

imo the the cell processor was a gimmick that ended up back firing.

iN_4G_form2336d ago

Yup, that Cell processor; and your opinion of it is of no importance. But what is of importance is the fact that features of PSN, all of PSN's streaming services, the modules of CLEDIS, the 'brain' of AIBO and the AI database that AIBO communicates with to get ideas all utilize the Cell processor.

Should rumors suggest or news break in the next year or two that a new Cell processor is going to be used for PS5, don't be suprised or shocked -- as its time will have finally come.

Segata2336d ago

You want a system far less powerful than the Switch just because it says Sony on it? Makes you a blind fanboy.

badz1492335d ago

hey, Nintendo fanboys are hard at work defending and parading the Switch like its the 2nd coming and that's a system so much weaker than the original Xbone, even, because it says NINTENDO. so are you admitting that all Nintendo fanboys are blind?

FallenAngel19842335d ago

They already did 6 years ago...it’s called the Vita

Imalwaysright2335d ago

No they didn't. Vita is considerably less powerful than the PS3.

PigPen2335d ago

You're making yourself look stupid.

I have forgotten about the Vita and you ... you. Let it Vita R.I.P with the Wii U.

FallenAngel19842335d ago

Vita had hardware parity with the PS3

UKRsoldja2335d ago (Edited 2335d ago )

Lmao. No hardware parity. Vita was slightly above a ps2 in power. It had a 540p screen and still ran sub-native often.. Killzone, Resistance, Wipeout and Uncharted look much worse on it...

Imalwaysright2335d ago

Stop with the BS. It's easy to find videos on the internet to compare both systems. Here is one from Digital Foundry that shows that the Vita is nowhere near close to perform as the PS3 https://www.youtube.com/wat...

FallenAngel19842334d ago (Edited 2334d ago )

@ UKR

Yeah there was hardware parity. This was blatantly clear when multiple multiplat titles were released on PS3 & Vita. Some games even features cross play.

@ Imal

Obviously a Vita isn’t as powerful as a PS3 🙄

Way to take something completely literal. Sony themselves stated it wouldn’t be as powerful as a PS3 since “the battery would last five minutes and it would probably set fire to your pants"

https://kotaku.com/5775033/...

However as a handheld it was designed to be a portable PS3 in the same way PSP was designed to be a portable PS2.

Imalwaysright2334d ago

Stop taking things so literal as in everything that comes out of your mo... keyboard shouldn't be taken seriously? Ok then....

FallenAngel19842334d ago

Cuz it’s basically common sense. When people say GBC was like portable NES, GBA was like a portable SNES, DS was like a portable N64, PSP was like a portable PS2, & 3DS was like a portable GCN/Wii they aren’t saying the handhelds were as powerful as the consoles they’re based on.

They’re saying the handhelds are giving a similar experience as the consoles they’re based on, like the Vita to the PS3.

The Switch seems immune to any graphical comparisons. I have a 1080ti and an overclocked i7 and I still love my Switch. There IS something magical about both Nintendo games and the portability and hybrid nature of the Switch. I only use my PS4 Pro and Switch for exclusives, but that is still a LOT of games!
