So glad Sony reached out to this talented man. The game looks amazing. Hopefully, the release date isn't too far away.

sinjonezp2349d ago

I Must say, LSA looks amazing..definitely agree here, very fast fun, like a Soul game mixed with bayonetta with a FF fantasy artistic vibe. Can’t wait to play this.

joab7772349d ago

There goes my idea that From would release a game called Lost Souls lol!

DarXyde2349d ago

If it really runs that well on PS4 hardware, that's incredible. It's crazy fast paced.

alexg5872349d ago

Omg.. i mean omfg!!!
Dante better step his game up!!!!

Godmars2902349d ago

Given that he always - dMc: DMC aside - I find your comment redundant.

Semi redundant.

alexg5872349d ago

Giving that i dont understand your reply i find your comment redundant

sinjonezp2349d ago

Redundancies aside, DMC was actually a really fun game. This game is more Bay2 cross Monster Hunter cross FF15 cross Dark Souls cross ...aww hell it just looks great!

alexg5872349d ago (Edited 2349d ago )

@sin Yes it looks dam amazing but i still get the dmc vibe from it and i can see the bayonetta/ff15 feels too

PlayableGamez-2349d ago

I refuse to believe one person did this by himself.
Even the first build.

Palitera2349d ago (Edited 2349d ago )

He basically bought tons of premade assets and put it together.
That's his main ability, so I doubt he can pull out an actually good game.
It is a good trailer for asset stores, though.

KwietStorm_BLM2349d ago

Being realistic, that wasn't even a traditional trailer. It was just pure gameplay with a random music track playing. No direction or anything involved. It's that reason that has me believe it was directly representative of the game itself, which is a good thing.

silvacrest2349d ago

Even if he did buy pre made assets, that doesn't mean anything, look at steam green light as a perfect example, tons of asset flip games, 99% are garbage. This guy managed something good, it could even pass as AAA from a gameplay standpoint.

rainslacker2349d ago

Really? I could put together a good game. I suck at creating assets though. I'm not that artistically talented. But give me assets, and I can make it happen.

There are modders who often put together great games from the assets provided from a base product.

There is no difference between if a person uses their own assets,, or someone elses in terms of putting it all together.

While it's too early to say how this will all come together, it does look like it's coming along nicely, and it's worth keeping an eye on. The fact one person is doing it on this scale is pretty impressive. If he had to create his own assets, then he probably wouldn't even be this far along.

Never underestimate people that have a passion for something. There are a lot of talented people out there.

Palitera2348d ago (Edited 2348d ago )

@rainslacker, yes, for the final product there is no difference if it the result is the same. What worries me (considering I care about the project, for the argument's sake) is that the ability he has shown is not about developing a game, creating assets, coming with great gameplay, story, creative mechanics etc. No, it is literally just shoving assets together. That's his ability. He is great in this, no doubt, but it is far from enough, imo.

Can the game still be good? Sure! But join "indie game" groups on Facebook and you'll see an awesome fox running on an awesome neon city district at least once per month. Two top asset bought for Unreal Engine and put together. He just went further in the same strategy. After many many years.

I sincerely wish ALL luck to him and the project, I don't hate or despise him (not that it would care anyway), I just don't think he has shown any abilities to justify such faith into the game.

He did use pre-made assets and now he has a team now with Sony backing him I believe. Doesn't really downplay what he's created here though, very impressive looking game so far.

Long Awaited PS5 Action Game Lost Soul Aside Is Still Alive, But Early 2024 Window Is Long Gone

Lost Soul Aside. Originally a one-man project that was picked up by Sony, the game's been in development for roughly seven years. In that time, the title has clearly undergone some dramatic changes — especially in terms of scope — and it's looked more and more promising with every showing. The game's most recent appearance arrived last summer, when a new trailer seemingly confirmed that the initial PS4 version was cancelled, in favour of PS5 and PC.

I keep forgetting this game exists lol.

Vits36d ago (Edited 36d ago )

Hard to blame you. The original announcement is almost 10 years old. The article calls it a 'long-awaited PS5 game' but when it first appeared the PS4 was barely a couple of years old.

lodossrage36d ago

It kind of has that Nioh thing going for it

Nioh originally was going to be an early ps3 game.

FPSRUSSIA36d ago

I searched the trailer on YouTube and the announcement trailer was a year ago are you sure your talking about the same game?

Vits36d ago

@FPSRUSSIA

I mean... the second result is the original 2016 trailer:

And here is the original Unreal Forum post: https://forums.unrealengine...

Nooderus35d ago

It was inspired by FFXIII Vs trailers, now it feels like one.

DarXyde35d ago

That's probably a good thing.

It flies under the radar with no hype. I find that to be very positive for the game's odds of delivering.

lellkay35d ago

It feels like vaporware at this point

MestreRothN4G35d ago

Integrating hundreds of stock assets is not an easy task.
It might look good, sure, but good luck with making it work and become an actual decent game.

To me this is the real final fantasy versus

Vithar289d ago

this ever going to release? lol feels like 10 years already

Chevalier289d ago

To be fair it was just 1 guy making the game originally. I think it's a team now albeit a small one.

CrimsonWing69289d ago

is it ever coming out or do we just get to see these "gorgeous and amazing" trailers for the rest of our lives?

Lost Soul Aside to be published by Sony Interactive Entertainment

Sony Interactive Entertainment will publish Ultizero Games-developed action RPG and PlayStation China Hero Project title Lost Soul Aside worldwide, the companies announced. It will be available for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.

Kurisu539d ago

This game has been on my radar since it was announced 1 million years ago (or so it seems)! Wasn't it being developed originally by just one person?

italiangamer539d ago

Yes it was, then Sony noticed the game and started funding the development. There's a whole studio working on it now.

ZwVw539d ago

LOL. By the time it's complete, the PS6 will have already been released.
