See the first gameplay trailer for Sega's Bayonetta

It may be taken off-screen and, as such, not the best quality, but here it is: the first public look at gameplay from Bayonetta, the PS3 & 360 action title Devil May Cry director Hideki Kamiya is working on for Sega. And ... it looks like it plays a lot like – ready for it? – Devil May Cry. Check out the full trailer after the break.

Hell YA DMC3 was my favorite of the series. And I loved vergil, he was such a badass. Man goodtimes, goodtimes. I hope Bayonetta fills my void of dmc games this gen.

even though the game's exactly like DMC i like it. the only thing i don't like are the guns! please kamiya give her a sword!!!

From a 1up interview i read she'll have katana's and other weapons later on in the game. Like shotguns on her feet etc. Sounds and looks really good to me, i'm already sold on this game. The gameplay looks like the stuff i was expecting out of DMC4 being more off the wall and artistic than 3. But it didn't happen in DMC4 and it was a letdown to me.

Also the boss battles looks pretty damn cool that giant thing chasing her on what looked like a crumbling cobblestone bridge. Good stuff.

The only thing I don't like is that its a generic chic doing all the punishing. Honestly, WTF is wrong with japanese devs? Either the characters all look like girly children, OR they opt for this oversexed stereotypical crap.

Have they ever seen an actual woman? Ever had sex? Not likely!

Looks like they characters don't take everything so seriously. DMC had humor but sometimes the characters cared too much.

Very similar to DMC, but you can say that about any third person action fighting game. Art design is off the wall, the character is super unique and it's a woman, which is cool. Animation is what really blew me away, looks so incredible. Can't wait.
