L.A. Noire's return is much more than just another re-release | GodisaGeek

Chris White: "I was impressed with what I got to play, the only problem being I’ve got to wait a little longer to play the complete game. If you thought this was just another re-release, you’re wrong. Going back to L.A. Noire after all this time was like I’d never been away. I was instantly hooked, enticed by the music, the world, and the dark underbelly of 1940s Los Angeles. If you’re new to the series, this is the perfect game to pick up on the Switch, and if you own a HTC Vive, it’s a no brainer."

Have they added GPS routes helping because originality the map didn't show you where you needed to go I had time keep opening the Mao again and again to see if I was on the right path

Vectrexer2376d ago

I told you where to go in a roundabout way there's an arrow in the general area that you needed to be. I don't know if GPS fits into that era lol

Summons752376d ago

I never drove, always had the partner drive brought you right to the next place.

_-EDMIX-_2375d ago

same.

This game has never even really been about exploring or really any real action, its a detective game and is more so based on concept vs physical gameplay, ie it has not real feel.

I felt the size of the city was just way, way, waaaaaaaay too big and did nothing for the game and I can see why Sony sold that IP and Publishing rights and how Team Bondi went under. The detail in the game is just amazing indoors and I felt they could have done a great job with a smaller town, city etc and I would have been just as happy. I didn't care for any of those chases in the car either. I hope Rockstar is already working on 2 and I hope they get to hire some of those Team Bondi developers and hopefully with a balanced budget that makes sense, they can continue this series.

I don't think Rockstar bought the IP for nothing, they have something planned.

Partner could tell you the next turn or directions at any time. Just keep spamming the command if you can’t tell where to head from the blip. It worked, felt better than if I had a Garmin in the 1950’s.

I'm excited for this release my only problem is a month before they announced it I was probably 8 to 10 hours into the 360 version.
I wish you could import your saved game into the new remake it would save a lot of Replay.

Knightofelemia2376d ago

I hope this spawns a sequel to this game

_-EDMIX-_2375d ago

I don't think it will because I think a Sequel is already being worked on, ie this game's sales might have zero effect on that.

Games take a LONG time to be made and a re-release is not really the right thing to do to tell interest in a game, this game moved 5 million units last gen, it won't move 5 million more this gen as a remaster and be the key to a sequel as it just doesn't make sense. It doesn't properly measure the install base of fans of this game.

http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

Thats the last I remember, probably sold a bit more after.

I will buy the sequel day 1, but I'm not buying the remaster. That is why remasters are not really used to tell interest because you can like a series and not buy a remaster of it, but gladly buy the current gen sequel.

Rockstar I don't think bought this IP for nothing, they have plans and I believe a sequel likely has been in development for some time.

InKnight7s2375d ago

But Dragon Ball X2 sold too much on switch although its old rereleased anime game, GTA5 sold way tooo much. I know I brang 2 games they are the best on their genre since ps2 or ever. But LA could sell that well as well who knows the economics can have these weird trends and shocks.

_-EDMIX-_2375d ago (Edited 2375d ago )

@inkight- ok

That is extremely unlikely.

LA Noire is nothing like GTA. I think the remaster is going to do well for Rockstar but I don't believe it's actually going to determine whether or not a sequels going to be made, I believe there's already a sequel that's likely in the works that's probably been in development for some years.

I'm sorry but Grand Theft Auto V is nowhere near normal in terms of game sales of re-release or even any type of individual game in the first place.

Played through this again on pc a little while back hasn’t aged much at all & it’s still an amazing game. Might have to buy it for a third time if I can get it cheap.

Never played always wanted to. Very excited to try it out.

L.A. Noire And Bully — Rockstar's Lost Gems That Deserve A Sequel As Much As GTA

Hanzala from eXputer: "I do appreciate GTA 6, Rockstar, but if I could trade it for a new L.A. Noire or a Bully game, I'd do so in a heartbeat."

Skuletor37d ago

How are they lost? You can get L.A. Noire on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Bully is on the PS5 and Xbox Series too.

Psychonaut8537d ago

I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.

Demetrius36d ago

Mfs are too sensitive nowadays and would cry instead of being concerned bout real world problems

Demetrius36d ago

Whenever gta 6 launch we won't be getting another rockstar title for another 10 years lol but on the positive side they bou to come back n show how open world supposed to be done 🔥

Skuletor36d ago

I won't expect any singleplayer DLC like IV's The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony after it launches either

12 Years Later, L.A. Noire is Still an Excellent Experience

There was a lot to love about Rockstar and Team Bondi's 2011 open world title.

One I never finished. I've been looking at the ps4 version off Amazon the last few months just never bit

Knightofelemia141d ago

It's worth playing LA Noire is one of my favorite Rockstar games. But I would also check out pawnshops or thrift stores if you want the game dirt cheap. Someone may have been dumb enough to dump the game.

Baffles me when people have these opinions about acclaimed games 😂

RhinoGamer88142d ago

100% agree... not perfect, but an engaging/refreshing experience.

sagapo142d ago

Agree, at time of release those facial expressions were amazing! They still hold strong even today imo.
The game on its own was good. Something fresh, but sidequests were a bit meh after a while.

Nacho_Z142d ago

I picked it up on sale recently, going to play it next summer. I'll get more out of it this time, first time around I treated the open world like it was GTA and goofed about, whereas now I'll play it with more respect. RDR2 has trained me well.

I also hadn't read Raymond Chandler at the time so presumably that'll add another layer of enjoyment too.

1nsomniac142d ago (Edited 142d ago )

Absolutely stunning game. So underrated. Played through it again last year and it still stands up so well. Like many of rockstars games it’s actually a far better experience on PC. I didn’t enjoy it as much on console. Completed it at least 3 times on pc.

The rumours of a sequel are awesome news despite the fact I think Rockstar are now the shell of the company they once were.

SyntheticForm142d ago

Team Bondi made a hell of a game.
