Hmm why are you two acting surprised? It was so obvious that it is going to be multiplatform. First of it is NAMCO, this gen they have been supporting 360 like crazy. Without that key info many people would tend to believe Tekken 6 BR would still be PS3 only and be delivered in a timely fashion.

It's no surprise to hear that Tekken 6 is coming to the 360 because it's been delayed so many times and because it's Namco. The PS3's D-pad is perfect for playing fighting games like Tekken anyways and Tekken has always been considered a Playstation franchise and I'm sure more people will be buying it for the PS3 for those reasons.

BUT...to many of the PS3 loyal on this site this is one more dagger being thrown at their fanboy hearts. Tekken has always been a Sony fighter so to see it going elsewhere is another sign that Sony really has lost the battle to keep 3rd parties exlclusive. THis is really sad. This was the last game i was hoping would stay exclusive. Now its all gone. Sony officially has NO third party exclusives. None!NADA! Finito! Even that Quantum Theory by Tecmo will be multiplatform. FFversus will be multi platform. In fact I wont be surprised if i saw ratchet and Nathan Drake Jumping around on the xbox360.

it doesn't matter if Sony own Naughty Dog and the Uncharted IP, Microsoft will steal it right out of their faces, turn around, spit in Sony's face and tell them theres nothing they can do about it. In fact Sony is so weak that i would not be surprised if Sony's 1st party material showed up on the xbox360 and even sold more on the 360.

This is why i lament Ken Kutaragi not being an integral member of the playstation family anymore. He wouldnt stand for this nonsense.

It's just the way the market is shifting... developers can make more money, and in this current market they need to.

This is good for gamers. More people get to enjoy the title, and companies get to keep making games. It's just simple business. If you want to get fanboyish, alo remember that the PS2 totally destroyed the original Xbox, and frankly, the XBox HAD NO major franchises to lose on this scale.

What we gamers SHOULD be rallying against isn't each other's consoles, but rather developers shifting to making EVERYTHING homogenized and "noob friendly" due to the success of the Wii. I don't want to say Hardcore vs Casual, but that's how it feels.... not to mention the penchant for making ALL BONUS material DLC, and raping our wallets not for $60, but rather for $80 - $100 per "comeplete game."

How many of their games are truly exclusive? Basically their first party and a few 3rd party's? Like Gears, Ninja Gaiden, Halo etc.

PS3 games that are exclusive come from their first party or 2nd party, that's how it is this generation...Games cost too much to make this gen to make them exclusive unless heavy financial backing.

Heavy Rain and White Knight Chronicles are both third-party exclusives that are being published by Sony. Konami looks like it may have another game for them as well.

Though the days of third-party exclusives ARE winding down it seems. Still I hope this isn't supposed to be one of Microsoft's huge announcements at TGS. I'd like to see some new and notable things from them... not more multiplatform victory prances.

Comparing someone you love and cherish to a toy, a piece of machinery, just says how out of whack your priorities are. It's. Just. A. Game.

The more that can enjoy it, the better. This is why its up to FIRST PARTY devs to differentiate between the systems, not third party devs. Third Parties have no allegiances to consoles, nor should they. Gears. MGS. DMC. NG. I feel they should all be on both, and let the first party devs do the talking for the system, like Halo and Uncharted. That's just my opinion.

It's a hobby. For many its a living. Developers need to make many to pay the artists, programmers, and other members of staff to keep on making games.

The problem with multiplatform games, occasionally, is when devs half ass it. But that is another matter entirely.

resident evil, although that series has never been exclusive to any platform. as there was one for dreamcast, nintendo, and PS so that doesn't count.

and since that game is developed by Tetsuya Nomura thats stays exclusive.

there is gradius, Suikoden, Zone of Enders and Metal Gear. i guess thats all the other important 3rd party games i know of thats hasn't been poached and i'm sure MS will do something about it.

as for Tekken i remember an article back in july/august where the developer said that tekken's exclusive state is in doubt so i saw it a good country mile away that this was also coming to the 360.. it seems like every developer out there now just wants to give everyone the same experience. Console gaming was oo much better when there were titles third party made to differenciate them self from the next.

it's now up to second and first parties to do that as 3rd party exclusives are as rare 3 hot girls trappe din a phone booth with g-strings on. which is why i'm not surprised if any more big games go the way of the dollar. one thing is for sure though, it's only going to be the exclusives that will sell the console which is why Sony right now is making their own

Tekken 6 is a game that started life on PS3 hardware, the same Hardware that's powering that game in the Arcades right now. So its no doubt its PS3 lead.

FELLOWS, Sony has publicly stated that this gen they are NOT going to pay for third party exclusives. NOW there might be some exceptions but this is their stated policy. instead they are putting their development funds into their own 30 or so 1st and 2nd party developers to work on things like kz2, infamous,ms2, uncharted,gt5,socom,Lbp,HOME,r esistance,heavy rain,ico,etc.
i for one am still thankful that there is at least one game co left trying to create on their own new game content. and not just cherry picking with a bunch of money from the usual suspects(activision,ea,square, capcom,namco,sega,ubisoft,rocks tar,etc)

Tekken 5 had so much content on it and the graphics were amazing for a PS2 game. I expect the same from Tekken 6. I will be getting the street fighter 4 joystick for all those fighters anyhow, Tekken 6 included. VF5, SC4, SF4 and now Tekken 6, worth investing in the Mad Catz premium controller I think. And before anyone starts this, well my controller is better argument, SC4 and VF4 plays fine on the Xbox controller and when I get the stick it will easily beat both controllers hands down so my advice would be to grow a pair and get over it. If you like the game, buy it! If you don't buy a game you like instead.

maybe just maybe the dev's decided they wanted to maximize their profit margins and considering that 360 sells a ton of software it was a easy descision to contact microsoft about bringing the game to their platform. Wow, another former ps exclusive game goes to the 360. Why hate micro for making a very attractive platform for devs/gaming? I own both consoles but this is good news for 360 only owners.

I agree. I'm pissed. We go from release this December till a Fall 09 release? Weren't they going to release the arcade version for the PS3 this winter? I bet they decided to expand it into this Bloodline Rebellions game once they new they were going to put it on 360 as well. They're excuse would be to blanket the 360 release by expanding the title. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the rebellions game supposed to be for arcade only like 2 weeks ago? It's dumb in my book. They better overhaul the graphics engine for a game that has been in development since 2005. Add some Physx Aegia or rag doll effects instead of having every character have that same stiff as a board animation when they get juggled.

dont really care for this game. tekken has always been one of the worst fighters imo. the characters seem so heavy and stiff, the gameplay is so boring and lacks depth.

i absolutely hate this game and cant understand why it exists. i especially cant understand why nothing has changed since tekken 1 when the formula is so horrid.

I'm going to call it now ... that video you see up by Gamespot is fake. It seems like the Coming to "playstation" and "xbox 360" seems to be spliced into the video.

When the video starts, it seems to be filming of another screen. The screen is a certain height and width. The "playstation" and "xbox 360" overlays do not match the size of the filmed screen!

Zulwarn ure a 1st class idiot in another news post today this was announced :

SDTekken write: Namco Bandai held a special press conference yesterday (just a few days before Tokyo Game Show), where they went over new and upcoming titles and other special announcements. One of the announcements was that Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion will be heading to the PLAYSTATION 3 (no word when) and will have MORE content than the arcade version (big surprise!)… IGN was at the event and mentioned in their latest podcast that the PS3 will NOT be getting the regular version of Tekken 6, which was released late 2007 in arcades.

So it would seem as you put it a great score for us as ure getting the regular version where well get the version with extras. Stii a shame though to see such a great game get passed to the XBOX360 where idiots like you will be able to play it.
