Shacknews reports: "When Microsoft announced Inis first Xbox 360 game, LiPS, at E3 they proudly proclaimed it would have music suited for each region it gets published in. There are already five different versions for Europe alone. Coming out sometime in the future are LiPS (English version), LiPS (Italian version), LiPS (Spanish version), LiPS (Swiss, Austrian, and Luxembourgian version), and Lips (Danish, Finish, Norwegian, and Sweedish version). That's a lot of LiPS. What could be potentially awesome is if LiPS' online store allows users to download songs from other regions. There is still a lot of mystery about LiPS like "iNiS stuff" which has yet to be revealed. Unfortunately, we won't find out any of this at Tokyo Game Show since Microsoft doesn't have plans to publish LiPS in the region, which also means you probably won't find many, if any, Japanese songs in LiPS when it ships in North America."

With music franchises such as Guitar Hero, Rock Band, and Lips continuously pumping out content it can be a little daunting just thinking about all the songs and devotion you need to pour into each music game. Erik Johnsen delves into the assortment of old and new music games/content and whether they warrant excitement and the hype.
i think the whole music simulation genre is slowing down in popularity
it was an amazing way to experience new&old music but now its not much more than greedy companies competing to get the next sequel out as fast as possible with little innovation
Fancy yourself as the as the new lead singer in timeless West End shows such as “Cats” or the “Phantom of the Opera”, wowing crowds and being a part of some of the greatest shows on earth?
It sounds like a confusing game that wont be successful
they think they'll steal the whole Singstar base with Lips? From what I've seen..........don't think so.
and trust me a lottt of people have singstar on their PS2's and love it, when they upgrade when the ps3 becomes cheaper they'll choose the PS3 rather than the 360 as Singstar is what their used to, Sony's built a very positive brand image for Singstar that I know in Europe and Australia is very strong and 'kool'.
Microsoft is going to need a lot of hard work and patience and great marketing skill to steal Sony's veryy veryyy large Singstar loyal base.
"Lips" - that is the most ridiculous name ever.

what if your buddy said this?
"hey i got lips"
