Playfire.com launches new trophy leaderboard and new site look

Today Playfire launched a major update to the PF trophy system. We've overhauled the profile page trophy module significantly. It now functions like an overview and takes up way less profile page space. To do this we've moved all the trophies listed here previously to a brand new trophy cabinet page (but more on that later Wink). In the new module you can find cool stats like your percentage complete for your games and your leaderboard rank (dun dun dah!) plus lots of other cool stats about your trophies.

Click on the cabinet link or on a game title will take you to the new trophy cabinet I mentioned a second ago. It's basically a way to view yours and others hard earned trophies. We felt trophies were pretty important so we dedicated a whole page to them which we even styled like the XMB trophy system with a fully functioning, animated progress bar! Simply click "show all" to view all of your glorious trophies "XMB style".

we've added a brand new trophy leader board that you can use to see how you fair amongst your Playfire friends, fellow countryman and even the global PSN elite!

I find it a little difficult to believe that the guy in the #1 spot is level 12 and has completed 100% of every trophy game released.

Darkiewonder5699d ago

well there's no real way to find out what trophies they got since you just basically "add" it in. Wish Sony really have a website for all this.

Megaton5699d ago

It's actually a pretty good site, been a member there for a couple months. Think MySpace for gamers, without the emo scenesters.

The community just started a group for checking the trophy cheaters.
in the near future fair trophy earners will get a badge and member can filter to only see " badge trophy hunters "

The staff is currently busy trying to solve the cheaters.

How Burnout Paradise bucked the trend and made open-world racing irresistible

Met with derision from existing Burnout-series fans at the time, Burnout Paradise remains arguably the greatest open-world racing game of all time. Here's why.

SullysCigar374d ago

I don't know why - and I know I'm probably on my own here - but I liked Takedown more. I think it was just 'different' enough to feel fresh. I also loved the destruction.

On that note, a new Motorstorm would be nice! All that mud, dust and car pieces flying everywhere blew my mind on PS3 - imagine what they could do now.

NJShadow373d ago

I loved Burnout Paradise, but Burnout 3: Takedown will always be the best game in the series, for me. Burnout 3 is arguably the most fun game ever made, with the greatest licensed soundtrack ever.

I played through the remaster quite recently. It's not as good as I remember, but I think a lot of that is because the "open world" thing was still pretty fresh back then.

I do think there's a gap in the market for a game like Burnout. With the new gen they could really make car damage a huge selling point again.

Paradise gave me open world burnout before I knew it was a thing.

Burnout paradise remastered and original are my favorite, i got the platinum trophy for both games the nighthawk is my favorite car

Personally don't give a shit for open world racers. Give me a new Motorstorm, Split second, Outrun.

The Inconsistent Harmony: 5 Examples of Ludonarrative Dissonance in Video Games

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "I finally have a proper designation akin to what I've always referred to internally as 'the line that must be crossed' or 'The Line', for short – ludonarrative dissonance – the separation from a video game's story in relation to its gameplay. Why isn't PETA all up in Mario's grill for jumping on turtles and killing fish, or charging Samus Aran with the extinction of the Metroid species? Ever notice how fire has that habit of making bosses in Resident Evil stronger? Read on my friend, for I endeavor to imbue you with the ability to engage in basic queries concerning the concept."
