1UP Preview:Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion (PS3)

1UP reports:

''What's the game about? This upcoming revision of Tekken 6 unashamedly perpetuates the series? established brand of 3D versus fighting (a looser, less technical affair than what?s offered by competitors Virtua Fighter and Soul Calibur) while adding two new playable fighters to the fray. Bloodline Rebellion also sports several new stages, a host of new unlockable accessories to customize your characters with, and an updated graphical engine.''

If Namco make it multiplatform I will skip it

TOO PAWNED5696d ago

its Namco bandai, you can be 99.9% sure that it will be multiplat.

Silogon5696d ago

It's Multiplatform and that was part of the delay. They wanted to release it with the xbox 360 version, which will also be shown at TGS I bet. This game was 1st shown for ps3 like over 3 years ago and it's still not here, that means

1 - something's wrong in development

or

2 - They had to work on new code for a new system

muddygamesite5696d ago

I really dont know why people are disagreeing with Silogon (well i have many times before), but in this case he is right. I have that sinking feeling Tekken 6 is a multiplatform title. Its the only reason why Namco-Bandai have bought themselves a whole year : To develop the xbox360 version aswell.

This is just my paranoid self speaking. I could be completely wrong.

cmrbe5696d ago

if it dosen't go multi.

SC has been mulit for a while now and i don't see any reason for NB to not make tekken multi as well unless Sony pay for it to be exclusive which i highly doubt.

There is a chance though that Sony might pay considering that the history of Tekken and PS as well as the fact that Sony will not have a exclusive fighting franchise if Tekken goes multi.

We shall see but after DMC4,GTA4 and FF13. I doubt Tekken will be exclsuive this time around.

Dacapn5696d ago

Multiplatform or not, I just want a release date on Street Fighter IV.

ShinMaster5696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

If you have been keeping up to date with Tekken 6, you'll know it's not a development problem or different code.

Tekken 6 was released in arcades last year. BUT the game was not done.

The recent update, Bloodline Rebellion, was for the arcade.

So, in other words, Tekken 6 development is constant and will not have a PS3 release until it's reached its final form.

P.S. Tekken 6(arcade version) runs on PS3 hardware, which means there's nothing wrong with development.

Keep up man.

Article was deleted due to misleading speculation on 1up's part.

Tekken 6!!! I still play tekken tag tournament from time to time.....how sad lol

second game I got on the ps2 after kingdom hearts, so it hols a spesh place in my heart!

you know what, I think it would be great if it does go multi-plat, so far it's iffy iffy as to whether it will or not but if it does, more people playing tekken the better I say!

PirateThom5696d ago

I got my PS2 at launch, that was one of the games I had. (along with Orphen: Scion of Sorcery - most underated game in the PS2 library? - and Ridge Racer V).

Awesome game.

ShadowRyuX5696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

Tekken Tag Tournament was THE REASON I wanted a PS2, in fact after seeing the ad on tv beggin my mom for a PS2...Ah those were the days...

Anyways to be more on-topic, I am a little dissapointed but if they release it soon and improve it I'll forgive them.

PikkonX5696d ago

While I also loved that commercial, I kind of hated seeing it since I knew that I wouldn't be able to find a PS2 or get my mom to buy me one at the price of $300 (would have never imagined I'd spend double that on a PS3). I got lucky when her tax refund came back though and I picked up Tekken along with Kessen.

Skyyo5696d ago

Tekken is by far my favorite fighting game.

Eddy = ownage!!!

cmrbe5696d ago

hehe. Jin in part 3 is the best by far. I wish i can play online to beat all of you with devil Jin.

leila015696d ago

Asuka, Lili = ownage ;)

I hope they'll announce a release date soon.

Wolf8735696d ago

I'm hearing mixed talks about it, so which is it?

Blasphemy5696d ago (Edited 5696d ago )

This game is PS3 only. Sony has some kind of deal with Namco ever since the first Tekken so slim chance this game will appear on any other console but a Playstation one.

PirateThom5696d ago

Exclusive right now, there's rumours, but I doubt it, the arcade game runs on PS3 hardware.

Skyyo5696d ago

the arcade uses PS3 hardware so i doubt it but with MS buying everything that isnt nailed down you never know

and you hear MS bought the nail making company = )

Wolf8735696d ago

I truly hope that this one doesn't leave the Sony camp, but I'm more of a Mortal Kombat fan, though this series did entertain me for some time.

cmrbe5696d ago

but it think it will go multi considering how NB have conducted themselves this gen as well as the fact that this game was shown off when the PS3 was unveiled but its still missing.

I doubt it takes 3 years to port this game. With the way MS works as well. I wouldn't be surprise at all.

Blasphemy5696d ago

LOL how can people disagree with what I said. It's true Sony and Namco have had a deal every since the first Tekken was relesed on PSone. The game is always released on some form of the Playstation board in the arcades then it is later released on the home console that's the way it has always been that is why the series is always exclusive to the Playstation.
