For so long the preserve of PC gamers (in fact my first experience with this game type was many many moons ago, as a university student playing Dune 2 on a housemate’s PC), there have been few successful entries on the Xbox. The most notable of these has been the Halo Wars series, which entertain by being a multi coloured laser-fest, using vehicles to do the fighting, in addition to the foot soldiers. Numantia is a beast of a different stripe, swapping the future for the past, science fiction for reality and laser rifles for swords. Can it still entertain?"

Turn Based Boredom

WTMG's Andrew Loeschner writes: "If you absolutely love strategy games and you’re absolutely dying to play a cookie cutter combat strategy game, then Numantia isn’t the worst bet. Especially if you only have a console. But, honestly, there are better games out there to play. Way better games."

Xcom and Battlechasers proved it can still be done right, but I guess this just missed the mark
