Quantum of Solace dev: GoldenEye is a '500lb gorilla'

Classic N64 shooter GoldenEye OO7 is a "500lb gorilla", according to Quantum of Solace developer Treyarch.

Speaking to VideoGamer.com in an interview to be published later this week, Treyarch's Adam Gascoine, the co-design director on Quantum of Solace, said that GoldenEye acts as a "motivator" for the team.

Quantum of Solace, due out at the end of the month, is Treyarch and publisher Activision's first stab at a Bond game following the change-over in license rights from EA. It's the game of the first two Daniel Craig Bond games - Casino Royale and the soon to be released Quantum of Solace.

lots of gadgets in the game, just like a bond game should have.
the film sucked as a bond film because there was zero gadgets

BlackTar1875687d ago

To me gadgets are great but they ruin stuff now its not back then when it was a awee thats cool moment nwo its either no one knows how to implement them or just not needed anymore. I loved the last bond film and was glad t didnt have flashy flashy flashy everywhere. I loved Goldeneye and some othe rold ones. Tommorow Never dies wa sokay but those other ones were utter garbage IMO only.

Old bond movies are tight and I still like them but cheese can not be pulled of just cause now adays(well it can since every movie seems to do it more or less) but Im glad with the serious approach ala. batman begins and the new terminators(hopefully). So il agree and disagree at the same time just cause Im glad there were none but yes I miss them but only if used right other then that I hate them.

Where Have All the Bond Games Gone?

Everyone’s been thinking about James Bond lately, with the franchise’s latest cinematic release tantalisingly close yet pushed back by the pandemic. The video games inspired by these films are a particular testament to those difficulties, considering their trajectory: an early enormous success in GoldenEye, through weakly received adaptations and original stories, to a near-decade of non-existence.

I paid a few quid for a copy and I enjoyed it.

You should try Blood Stone if you haven't already. It's going for the same price as Quantum but I reckon it's a better game all round.

I actually enjoyed the game. The scenery was really good and varied. It wasnt the best shooter ever, but it was certainly worth playing if you like the bond franchise at all. Bloodstone was good to, just different.
